I am, I think, back in the world.
Hello eveeryone. Please forgive problems with writing. Update will be short. I had microsurgery 6 weeks ago. Prior to that my daughter left shcool to get job to hlep with finances. She is now working very hard and well nad helping alot. Surgery was supposed to be outpatients. Woke in huge pain and confusion wiht surgeon standing over me saying he was keeping me in hospital. During surgery lots of ? fluid from spinal cord leaking. Could find no broken disk at all...has decided body must have aborbed it somehow. Had to lie flat for one day. Came home fully dosed with loads of meds. No feeling in left foot and most of leg at alll. Surgeon unsur of what outcom would be.

Over next few dyas my daughter was supposed to be taking care of me. I was taking meds as should. Turned out the meds weere way too much for me and I overdosed. Started talking strange. Walking strange. Friend came over to find I had nt eaten in about 4 days and way too dosed up. Took me straight to surgeon. He took me off all meds to find out what was going on and why I was reacting.

Since then having huge problems with appetite. No interest. friend cme to help outtttt and ffeed me. I have very slurred speech and right side ?overtaking? And only 10% usage of left leg so far. Now going for SCAT scan to see if pressure on brain or subdural from spinal leakage may be causing problems. WC seems ok so far with tht. Very concened. I went into surgery at 113lbs. Now 90. Some problems with typing with left hand. Left side not happy with me very much.

Anyhow. Supposed to start wtih proper physio in abouot one week. Again sorry for writing but not alot I can do aboooout this. Also now have rehab follow up with regards to re training and goood news there. Hopefully one fullly sorted I can train up into managerial posistion , case management???Ha, Ha, or back to nursing since apparently that is what my surgeon is very keen on. He wants me on his team!!!!! How funny is that. Glad to be back....or at least partially back. Bye for now.

Hi Bags, It is really good to see you back. Please keep us updated on how you're doing just as soon as you can. I am adding you to my prayer list and remember Bags you gotta eat. You need the nutrition to help your body heal (even if you have to force yourself to eat). Sounds to me like you really need to gain some weight (want some of my excess to help you get started - just kidding). But seriously Bags you need to put some weight on ok. Keep me posted.

Deb

Bags...I am so glad that you are back, but it does sound like you have had a very tough road. I am praying that this surgery does what it is suppose to do and relieve you of some pain so that you can go back to work. It sounds as if you may have some prospects already...good luck to you... love Red
