What happens if failed drug test?

RE: What happens if failed drug test?
Hi Hurt,
I know in this case that the test was done at a walk in. Just trying to illustrate the differences in test quality. Again, I din't advocate illegal behavior. but am quite concerned with employers/insurers gaining any unfair advantage with this. I don't think a walk in would lie, but simply using the same pipette twice on two different samples can give an erroneous result.
Tests for THC measure quantity, so a one time second hand exposure will usually result in a negligible finding for one or two days immediately afterward while long term heavy usage will result in a higher quantity in the sample over a longer period.
Since this subject is on the board and I have personally seen a company attempt to strip an employee of retirement benefits after 28 years of sevice based on a single flawed test, I am commenting.

The nightmare here is a worker who gets a cinder block dropped on his head from 4 stories up and then is denied w/c because somebody in a lab screws up. I just think it would be appropriate to be absolutely certain of the facts prior to anyone losing jobs or benefits based on this issue.
We all picture a guy who shows up for work "high as a kite" and hurts himself, but that isn't always the case. There are potential problems here that are not so black and white IMHO.
