RE: contact w/work personel
Leave it alone. You would just be asking for trouble.

RE: contact w/work personel
AMEN.
If you are off work because a dr. says so. Then who are you to decide to go back to work against dr's. orders???? I know that was a bold statement. I am sorry. You may want to help out at work. And there is nothing wrong with that. However, lets say you do. Then you have left the door open for anyone to say there is nothing wrong with you and you are faking it. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |

RE: contact w/work personel
you will find that most likley they will be told to have no contact with you....please be prepared to be shunned
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: contact w/work personel
Also be leary of co-workers who may have been urged by your employment supers to question you about your state of injury....then report back to them.
You know how repeating a conversation can get blown out of proportion & twisted when repeated a couple of times. Give them nothing to repeat Good luck, Lilly

RE: contact w/work personel
My Opinion Only, Stay away from Work, and be Very Careful of what You Say to any Employee at this Time. It's a shame to Say, but even though You want to Help at Work, they would only try and Use that against You. I'm not Sure of Your Injury and how Serious it is, but I can Guarantee You this, the More Serious the Injury, the More of a Liability You are to Their i/c, and Your Employers Ins. Rates are Based on Lost Time Injuries, and Medical Expenses Incurred. When things get to the point of Push and Shove, which somehow it usually does when Dealing with w/c, they will try and do anything Possible to get You Out of the System, thus Saving Money! Best to Stay Away, and Be Safe, and give them no Ammo. to Use against You! Sorry to be so Negative, but it just seems to Happen that Way!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

thanks for the input, this is my 1st time on wc so im kinda lost.i reported my accident to the HR officer, went home that pm they contacted me the next day and sent me to their DR.after his exam i was told to take a week and 1/2 off.have had 2 prev. sugerys 78 and 95.tripped and fell into pothole in their lot (they were aware of hole, maint. dept was told to repair it weeks ago)2 employees witnessed my fall.now i cant stand or sit for more than 10-15 min. at a time, hot needle like pain in my thighs and a constant aching in both hips .i have worked hard all my life but i feel guilty about filing a wc claim.hope that im doing the right thing, would hate to pursue this and in the end end up with nothing, lose my job and end up on welfare

RE: contact w/work personel
I am guessing that you have some type of back or nerve damage. Me and Still in Limbo have simular injuries, and we both were hard working people. I say the heck with feeling guilty. A back or nerve injury can end your working career. You need to take care of yourself before even thinking about work. I would have much rather lost my job instead of being in the condition I am.
There is nothing wrong with filing a wc claim. WC insurance is to protect the employer from a law suit. You used the word "welfare". If you can not work due to your injury, how are you going to pay your bills??? 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI.
