Really need your input I feel doc unfair.
Hi on jan 29th broke my ankle. (Dislocated ankle, broke fibula, shattered tibia in over six places have 6 pins and 1 plate to hold it together) Doc said will be zero weight bearing for 3 months after operation on leg was told zero weight for only 2 months. Had split cast for 2 weeks and fiberglass cast 3 weeks and walking aircast for 3 weeks. At the 5 week mark doc had me putting 50% weight on broken ankle. Was off work till april 4th Wc paying everything. Well today the 25th 8 weeks after fall I have yet to walk I go to docs office and he says to start to try walking asap. He told me to see the PT 3 days a week for 4 weeks to help me get along sooner. He also told me to use the walking/air cast for three weeks more. I can't drive with it on nor can I do my job at work I am on my feet 80% of the time and drive dealer cars thru out the day. Doc said I am to go back to work as of today and take a cab to work if I can't drive. I explained my situation at work I only get commission and have to be on my feet most of the day. He said that my employer must give me sitting type work or send me home. Is this crazy what can I do. This really upset me. The doc has pushed me thru this whole process my foot is swollen like a football I did take a few steps when I got home I can walk be its very hard and can't walk maybe a dozen or so steps with out having to get weight off foot. Is WC pushing me off the system should I see another doctor. I have no way of doing my normal job and my employer has no other position for me to work in. I feel screwed and in fear of loosing my WC money I can barley pay my bills now. The broken ankle was hard enough now I have this crap to deal with. Any advice would be great. Thanks Doug in Boise Idaho.

RE: Really need your input I feel doc unfair.
If your having this kind of problem why haven't you already contacted an attorney? They don't bite and most don't charge anything for a visit.
Idaho's WC system is pretty fair. But your being bullied by the doctor. Go talk to an attorney and tell him what the problem is. Is this doctor one you chose yourself or one that the insurance company sent you to? |

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
