collecting social security while collecting workmans comp
I'm 64 years old and am presently on NJ workmans comp due to work related injury. Is it possible to collect regular social security (not disability) or is there a reduction in workmans comp benefits if I collect SS. Thanks for any input

RE: collecting social security while collecting workmans comp
when my husband was on wc he was collecting a military retirement and it was not affected...call your ss office you will get a correct answer quicker than you would fromn WC......welcome to our fold ....check out off topics for fun and family some of us have become very close and we invite you to join us....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: collecting social security while collecting workmans comp
the wc people told us it was money he was collecting before he got hurt so it didnt count towards his total......

RE: collecting social security while collecting workmans comp
"Disability payments from private sources, such as private pension or insurance benefits, do not affect your Social Security disability benefits.
However, workers’ compensation and other public disability benefits may reduce your Social Security benefits." from the same link...... |
