RE: I,m Back
Sorry to hear you haven't been well. Hope the surgery is a go now, and you will soon be on the road to a full recovery! Good luck on the quitting smoking. If you can get down to 5 cigs a day you've made a huge accomplishment and should be able to quit no prob. I went cold turkey 30 years ago, and haven't looked back. I started smoking at 8 years old. Ugh!!!! It took my husband a little longer to quit. Take care and keep us posted on your surgery and recovery process. Tongue

RE: I,m Back
SadGood morning grundig.......so sorry all this is going on. Having asthma i know the toll anesthesia and surgery can have on the lungs and pneumonia being bacterial you'll need time to heal. I went into this last surgery a picture of health except for the injuries and I'll tell you 3 weeks later it has still whipped my butt. As far as the smoking goes I have quit 5 times. My last one I was doing great until injured. Went back to a pack a day and now have it down to a few again. Maybe when all comes to be we'll support each other in this quit. Best of luck and good health. Keep us updated.

Wink..........Love your dancing girl. You are too funny.

RE: I,m Back
Hey there Grundig.  Sure sorry to hear that you are sick.  Hopefully all will be better soon and you will get the needed surgery.  I had an awful cold about a week before my surgery date and they told me that I needed to be over the cold before they would do the surgery.  Turns out by the time we got pre-authorization from the IC and then set the date for the surgery, all was cleared up except for a little cough.  The anesthesiologist said ok so we did the surgery last week.  Still have a little cough (yep I smoke too Sad ).  I also lost my voice due to the tube they put down my throat and am just now starting to get it back.

I really wish you well in your surgery and please keep us posted.

Prayers to you,
Deb

RE: I,m Back
Hi Grundig,

They will do no surgery until yours lungs xray clear, clear, clear. This is only for your benefit. Sorry you got sick, but maybe your stars were not in line, and you weren't suppose to have surgery on the day you anticipated for a reason...when all is well & safe for you, it will proceed.
Take care in the mean time, prayers to you too! LillySmile
