hi all...home from new York...it was a very interesting trip in that my husband took me to the train station where I met up with a friend and we got our tickets to go to New York... the trip was a 77 minute trip and it was very comfortable and so forth. i didn't realize that the train when it leaves NJ and enters NY actually goes into a tunnel that is under the NY bay... it is about a mile long tunnel...so not really big but interesting.
Kim and I arrived a little early so we got a taxi and went to a cafe and had a nice lunch and then we went to time square. Time square is so pretty in that it is clean and well maintained. I walked into Good Morning American. They have a small childrens park on the bottom floor of the Studio. I never knew that before. Then we went to see the American Doll factory and watched as one of the dolls that a little girl brought in get her hair fashioned again. I could not believe that someone would pay the amount that they wanted to actually take a doll to the beauty salon, but as always to each their own... Then we flagged down another taxi and went to the threatre to watch Jersey boys... what a great show. I have seen phantom of the opera, Cats, Wicked and one other that I can't recall its name, but this was absolutly the best. The story line is a true story about frankie Valon and the 4 seasons..from their rise to their fall...per say... the music was awesome...it was a great show.. i had a very difficult time climbing all the stairs, but I always say where there is a will there is a way and I did it..and that is what is important. After about 3 hours the show was completed and we flagged another taxi which drove Kim and I to the NY Penn Station. Then we rode back home .... this was awesome.... We are discussing the possibility of coming back sometime in the summer.... I truly had a great day .... I actually did this..the first time for 3 years to go somewhere with out a family member... however, my family was not real happy about it, especially my son who gave me the 5th degree about being safe in NY..... I hope you all had a great day...love Red Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: New York Trip
I forgot to mention, and sweet tooth just reminded me. while riding in a taxi back to the train station in NY, the taxi driver said he had to take a different route because a crane had fallen on two people and they were killed. Kim and I just looked at each other and said where did this happen asking the taxi driver...it happened about 2 blocks from the theatre where Kim and I was watching the Jersey Boys... however, just an hour before it occurred, Kim and I had been walking under that crane... boy did our eyes get wide...someone was with us today...love Red

RE: New York Trip
I was wondering if that was the day you were there in NY. It was such a terrible tragedy for something like that to happen. I myself now work in the construction field and hear about safety all day long and even support the safety orientations that we have each morning. You can bet that will be brought up on Monday am.
So glad you had a great time, and you were safe. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
