Question about vocational assessments

My wife had an IME and the doctor determined that she was permanately disabled and he recommended that she have a vocational assessment done. The vocational assessment has been scheduled for her to go to.

Can someone explain what my wife can expect when she goes for this and how long does this usually take? I have heard that they can be very painful and take a long time to do. But I have not heard this from anyone that has actually had one.

Has anyone here had one and could you explain what it is like and any advice for my wife?

generally an assessment involves a detailed work history; developing information about education and training as well as documenting a workers interests and abilities. It may also involve some testing and examining physical limitations.
workers comp is state specific and there maybe major differences as to what is done depending on the jurisdiction of the comp claim.
