limitation eval ?
Hi! I'm a nurse and experienced a shoulder injury. I had surgery December 2005. Went back to work in Feb 2006. Returned to full duty without any problems. Received a call from my surgeon's office yesterday (year and a half later...) wanting me to schedule an appointment to have a limitation eval. Said "I see here that you saw Dr. ____ on the 30th". Keep in mind I haven't seen or had any contact with anyone for over a year now. When I questioned her info and asked where did this come from, she stated " I guess your employer requested it". Apparently they have and want this eval so that they can close my case. My question is this... does anyone know if this is standard procedure and do I have to comply? Are they trying to avoid ever having to deal with "my shoulder" again? Any insight would be helpful. I am confused since this just came out of the blue!!!!

RE: limitation eval ?
mmmmmm sounds like they want to close your file.....and see if you have a lasting disability......

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: limitation eval ?
Sounds more like an IME or a Rating issues, or maybe a simple Evaluation to see how all is with you. Sometimes to close the claim, and sometimes to get ready for a settlement.

Hi nolenurse99...welcome to the board. I don't have an answer to your question however, I wanted to tell you welcome. I am a nurse also. Many of us on this forum are. I am glad to hear that you were able to go back to work. Keep us posted on how this all turns out for you.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
