injury on wknd job -losing money on other job

I was injured at a 32 hr weekend job, but was told WC in kansas doesn't have to pay for lost wages in my business that I run during the week. Since the weekend job is only half of my income, is there any way to recoop lost income? Injury was misdiagnosed for 1st month so I'm behind schedule in healing. Money is getting tight!

half a dozen states have disability program for non-industrial injuries. check your state.
you should be able to take paid leave time from your other job.
some workers signup for income protection insurance or have it thru their union. check yours
generally there's no "hidden" $$ out there or government programs for those that miss paychecks.

The business that you run, do you also own it?

My husband and his brother are co-owners of a business and if either were to be injured on the job there would be no work com protection. Business owners are not covered by work comp insurance in Kansas.

A disability program for non-industrial injuries in Kansas, don't think so.
