SSDI questions
Hi all, I have a few questions about the SS that I will be getting.

1. The letter from the Judge's office stated that my case was "fully favorable" and that it would be going to a different department to determined the amount and to be processed. Has anyone had this written in their acceptance letter..& how long did it take to rcve. the letter from that dept. re. how much you were getting and when your 1st check would arrive?

2. I know that there will be an offset while I am on W/C...will there be an offset on the back pay of SS?

3. The letter that I rcvd. stated that I was awarded SSI and SSD. Is that possible to get both? I assumed it was one or the other, but then I got a different letter, from my lawyers, re. how their % will be taken out...and in that letter, they too said that I was awarded both SSI and SSD. I'm a bit confused on that one.

Thanks guys.

ssdi is a disabilty ssi is if you make under a certain amount its an extra amount for low low income....I recieved my money before I got the award letter they direct deposited it into my account

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: SSDI questions
The SSI and SSDI sounds like part of a stardard letter. SSI is only awarded if you fall below a certain income. SSDI is awarded if you are disabled and can not work. They are two totally seperate issues.

You can only receive 80% of your pre-injury wages with WC and SSDI combined. Once your WC benifits expire then the SSDI benifits will increase to your full allowable rate. Your attorney can only collect 25% of your back wages from SSDI up to $5300.00.

Some of us have had an issue with SSDI getting the amount right. The problem is with the processing center. I encourage you to keep all documentation from SS and WC. You may need the documentation to help speed the process if you have a problem with getting the amounts right.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.
