Doctor says I may have nerve pain related to knee problems
I am trying to sort through and understand what the doctor is telling me.

I went to the osteopath (family doctor) because of the symptoms I have that are getting worse.

On the high pain days with my left knee I experience nerve pain in the bottom of my left foot, along with the middle of my foot being numb. The pain is very intense and easily a 10+ and no sleep for the nights. What I do not understand is I do not have pain going down the back of my leg and I questioned this with the doctor.

Upon examination by the doctor I learned the nerves are in the back of the knee and with the bone on bone of my knee I am experiencing nerve pain in my foot and there is a 50% chance it may or may not improve.

My attorney tells me he's had several clients with this.

RE: Doctor says I may have nerve pain related to knee problems
Bummer Knees; Food for thought only;

I too suffered from that exact same pain, once my Knee had been replaced, it has been becoming better as the days go by now. The Nerve, Nerves are in the Knee area, and flame up, upon inflamation, tightened muscles, and improper movement of the Knee joint. As you stated the level #10 pain seems to come and go, just like mine did, the pain seemed to be more higher the longer that I had to wait for the Surgery. But it is getting better.

(Now, on the sad Note; since I'm now doing much better with my Knee Replacement, foot pain is now only minor, I had favored my left leg with the surgery, and now, my right knee has become a #10 pain level, with pain higher than that #10 when I apply weight to the joint when walking.) Even though I knew I had two bad knee's, my right knee had never been near as bad as the left one, till now that is. So, here I go again. Update in the weeks to come...

I do hope the nerve pain improves after surgery. I was told 27 months ago I was in need of this surgery but been having to work through the courts to get it approved.

It is so sad that good people who have worked hard all their lives have had to go through what you two have to be fixed.

Bummer - I hope your knee replacement will help you as much as it has BB. Do you know when you are going in yet?

Bad Boy - I am so happy to hear that you are doing well but I am sorry to hear the other knee is hurting so bad. Please keep us updated and let us know when you go in for your next surgery Smile
