RE: Prayer requests
Beth you and I are pretty much in the same boat. Have the same problems, but you ended up getting surgery. Mine was done in 1998 for carpal tunnel and like i said, the doctor i went to gave me such a good rating of 19% ( so the IC thinks ) that they want to fight me and have me go for a IME now. I had a FCE way back in the first month out of work.
I am praying that they give you a good rating and that once it gets sent to the IC that they have no complaints and want to fight for a lower one etc. I also am like you with no lawyer. I chose to do this on my own, and now i am dealing with the IC lawyers. They sent me my medical records and heard they are trying to say it is a past injury. I am getting to the point where if it gets any worse, i may need some defense. I want to know what they would think is a fair impairment rating for someone that has their daily life effected when getting dressed, going to the bathroom, blow drying hair, and going to work everyday fulltime would be. If 19% is to high, i am sure they are going to fight for 10 or less. Just remember that if your life has been effected by your ADL's , that you mention that, as it has a big impact on your rating. That is what my doctors note said on the impairment rating, is that is why he chose to make it the number it is for whole body. Just relax, don't take your meds, and be truthful. You will be fine. Please let me know when you get the results what they are, as i would be curious to see how different my results are compared to yours. good luck. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: Prayer requests
You are such a "bunch of good guys and gals"! I am so proud to have found this board and be apart of GREAT people as you all are.I got tears in my eyes when I read what had been posted-good tears!
I am a believer in what you give out to others, you receive back and more so.All of you are in a wonderful place to be getting back! Sparkey,I know that our injuries are about as close as anyone here to being the same. Here in Texas,if you get 15% or higher, they can ask for more tests to be done. And you know why? They don't want to payout for that much.So I shouldn't be worried about getting too high of a rating, but they put you in that place. There is nothing fair about that. I will let all know what this doctor says when I here it. The last time I got a rating and I wasn't MMI,I got the results back in less than a week.Texas wants in in and out as quickly as poosible,so that may be a goood thing! Take care all and I send my prayers for you back at you! Love,Bethsha |
