Admin...fire in Durango
Did not know if you heard, but the durango Tee shirt factory and the 2 restaurants on it's southern side burned yesterday, I doubt if you would know the restaurants.

It is always so sad in these small towns. I was supposed to be there yesterday, but cancelled, am glad now as I always go by Fuzziwigs.

7 firefighters were hurt, but all will be okay, and believe it or not, all the people in the restuarants and shops got out soon enough that is a blessing. I am sad, though as there was so much history lost.

RE: Admin...fire in Durango
My sister called me this morning, and I went to the Durango Herald site and watched the videos there. I did know of one of the restaurants, but only from more recent visits home. One of them used to be a bakery I was more familiar with. It is sad. The buildings date from the 1800's. When I was growing up there we lost almost an entire city block to a bad fire - the Gardenschwartz Sports fire. Killed a fireman and policeman. Its a shame, but fortunate that the fireman were not more seriously injured or killed.
