Red - it's beautiful but I think the lighthouse is leaning a bit to the right??? Not being critical, it is beautiful Smile

Yes the lighthouse is leaning a bit , but could have been the builder or it is just settling. ROFL It looks good to me, I love storms.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I have to agree with Monster. If anything, the lighthouse should be leaning to the left. Given the way that the waves are crashing, the wind is blowing from uppper right to lower left. If this is nature and the winds blew this way most often, then it would only seem right that the lighthouse lean with the way the wind is blowing, not into the wind as it is now.

Hmmm...Although there are a few lighthouses around the world that do lean, the one depicted in this painting doesn't make visual sense. If you'll notice, the platform atop the lighthouse is completely level, while the bulk of the lighthouse below leans in a peculiar way in relation to the platform. It's as if the inner framing itself is skewed horizonally by approximately 10 degrees while the platform remains completely level. I can't help but wonder if there is an invisable hinge attached beneath the platform. How the outer structure (the bricks) remain intact is a wonder!

Also, the ocean waves are not believable for those do not run paralell with the shore. A variance is alright, but not this much.

I think I'd better stop right here!Big Grin

RE: Storms...working on storms ........
Hi all... you guys are good. This was not a good painting at all.... I messed up really bad.

Monster...I didn't notice that the light house was leaning when I was trying to paint this painting..... You see to put on a light house, I draw it on contact paper and then cut it out and cut it too the canvas before I start the painting process...I put the contact paper on leaning..

Angel...you are really good at all of this...you are exactly right..the chances of a light house leaning toward the waves is almost nile to none... the wind is going the opposite direction...

sweet tooth, yes there is a light house...so this brings out a good point...is their enough in the color contrast to actually be what is called the point of interest. Most likely not...

Beshall211... now that is a creative question. I didn't think about that when I put it on. I think however, that you have a very good point.

Wink...what do I say to my analytic friend. Most likely the most analytic person on this forum .... well with the exception of me...smiling... just teasing..Wink you win hands down on being the most analytic person on the forum... Wink you are so clever... the first one to mention the waves.... They are moving in the wrong direction and lean to far to the left...waves do not spash in this manner in to a bank... there is a reason for that....I GROOFED UP... hehehehehe.... I don't think I was very happy yesterday at all....and it does show up in this painting... isn't that amazing how an emotion can affect your painting.... oh and Wink you are right about the prospective on the light house....

so now what do I do....into the trash with the other 100 or more canvas's that I don't like and goofed up on....good bye painting... Del is really not going to like me over this one.... smiling...

The answer was actually the light house leaning so monster you are our winner... so something will be coming in the mail along with the other things that are leaving on Wednesday.....however....... I believe you are all winners.... for just being WHO YOU ALL ARE....the most amazing and caring people that I have ever had the pleasure to know...love Red
