give my position to someone else
Since I have been on wc my job has been covered in my absence. Now my boss wants to fill it full time with some one else and give me another position within the company can she do that? If I have to take the other position can they cut my pay?

RE: give my position to someone else
the employer is thinking it's their job not yours.
generally the law agrees. In many states the employer is not required to make or hold a job for you. Luckily the federal government passed the Family and Medical leave act which gives you 12 weeks of job protection. |

RE: give my position to someone else
Mike 1171 is absolutely correct about family medical leave time frame, however, a lot of companies also have a leave of absence policy that protects your job status for up to a year..based on the policy. Pull out your employee hand book and check for unpaid leave of absence to know your company's policy. Red
