RE: update
It seems to me that fear is brought on sometimes from lack of knowledge and if the both of you educate yourselves as much as possible it will help relieve some of that frantic feelings. Best of luck to you both. Smile

CD>>>> That's my intent as soon as I know details. What kind, where, what stage, how far it has spread, treatment, prognosis, etc. Knowledge is everything. I look things up now and it does me now good since I have no idea what he's dealing with. Hoping this afternoon brings more info and good news.

Lilly>>>>Please keep that wonderful wand of yours going.

RE: update

Hi all>>>>Here's the plan so far. Tomorrow blood work and pulmonary function study. Friday a broncoscopy with biopsy. By Wed the Dr. should have the results as to what type of cancer this is and a treatment plan. Maybe surgery, if so his entire right lung will need to be removed. Dr. said most live a full life with only one. Depending on the type there may be no surgery. Some spread faster with surgery at which point there will be a combo of radiation and chemo. That's it so far. Gave hubby 3 prescriptions to keep him more comfortable in the meantime. You have all been praying overtime. Dr. said t he cancer looks like it's localized in one spot and hasn't spread anywhere else. The reason for the lung rmoval is because the mass is sitting on an airway and obstructing the air passage.

Love,

RE: update
Cappy,
I have a friend who had his lung removed and he actually went back to work within I think it was 8 months. He travels overseas and works on some kind of huge rigs. But your hubby may not even have to have that done. We will pray extra hard for him so everything works out.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: update
Cap this is wonderful news. The fact that the doctor doesn't believe it has not relocated is just the best. Cap, I have had alot of experience with lung cancer. When I was a kid, I lived on a farm. Every spring and fall, the airplanes would drop the pedicides. Our parents never knew what it would do to all their children. So that is why I have had a lot of experience with it...so I said that to say, that when one of my cousins was about 16 years old he had to have an entire lung removed so the very reasons you are speaking of, and guess what he is now 54 years old. He has 6 children and he works a job and supports his family without any difficulty with breathing or anything. Up until about a couple of years ago, he played on a baseball team for our county in Oregon. Cap, I am saying this to not give you false hope but to say that what the doctor said is good news and that he is 100% right when he says that a person can live for years with only one lung. My cousin is living proof of that situation. I am praying for you and for your husband. My heart is with you and I am here if you need to talk...love Red
