Off Topic what did you do for mothers day
Our church had a special service for mothers....which I bawled thru and dinner afterwards cooked by the men and boys of the church...we came home changed clothes and went fishing with the 3 little ones in our pond with sticks and line and hooks. They caught sun perch after sun perch it was so nice then shaelynn(5) caught a good size catfish on her line and got so excited when she got it to bank she dropped her stick and before Honey could get to her the fish was off the hook and gone......then Caraleeta(9 today)caught a huge snapping turtle scared the fool outa her she got it to bank and just stood there going huh Nana Huh Papa could someone help me please when you looked over she was as stiff as her pole and shaking we thought she caught her hook in her body some where but this massave turtle was on her hook we got it on bank with the help of a pepsi crate and honey took it down to the river.....I dont think I have to worry about the kids wanting to swim in our pond for awhile!
Then honey and Rebecca fixed me a grilled pork chop, fried squash and a salad for dinner.....it was an awesome day.....we also picked the first squash from our garden yesterday........I hope all the mothers had a really nice day ;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: OT what did you do for mothers day
Wow...Jayne...your days sound like the days that I grew up with. I grew up in Oregon in the country. My dad would take my two brothers and myself to fish the Umpqua River almost every Sunday. I never caught a turtle. I think that would have scared me out of my mind also. I love squash fresh from the garden. That sounds like you had a wonderful day. Spending it with the family is the best.
I was not able to attend church yesterday, but my daughter did come over and cook dinner for my husband and I. Our other daugher is in Oregon, she called, and my son is in Las Vegas visiting and he called and sent me some flowers. My day was mostly entertained by two of my grand daughters Alexia and Brianna. They were singing songs to me and just making me laugh with their antics. Alexia is 9 year old and Brianna is almost 3. Also, I was doing my craft thing for my daughter who was doing the cooking. I referred to it earlier in a post, but I make diaper cakes for baby showers. I use to sell them on Ebay, but stopped because there was too many orders and too many trips to the store and post office. I was setting in a wheel chair which makes it difficult to go to the store and post office. I also, make real cakes (I have graduated from the Wilton III cake decorating couse) but yesterday it was only made with diapers and goodies for a brand new baby. It was fun...and I love the look on my daughters face when she sees what I have finished. Makes me feel like I still have some value even if I am not working. Then I made a hugh basket with a ducky theme for the baby and mother from me. I had a lot of fun. I hope you all had a lot of good times. I called my mother and my husband called his mother as they both live in Oregon and we are in New Jersey. During a time like this, we really miss our family back home. Enjoy your children every day, they are precious. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: OT what did you do for mothers day
Geena gave me the best gift ever, she slept in until 11 am lol. She has been getting up at 6am lately, so this was a nice change. We went to the cemetary to visit my grandma. Im still very sad about losing her and its been 14 yrs. We were going to go out for dinner but my dad wasnt feeling well, so I stopped and picked up dinner for my stepmom and myself and picked up fresh ingredients to make my dad a huge salad. He loved it. He felt bad that I was doing all this running around on my dad. I told him it didnt matter, as long as we were all together at the end of my running, then it was worth it. Dinner was great. We exchanged gifts after. I bought my stepmom a ceramic bear statue for the front of her home. On top of the statue is a bowl shaped like a nest. Its a bird feeder. She got me a gift card to the mall so I can get me a new outfit. I had to promise that I wouldnt use it on Geena. Whenever she gave me a gift card, I would go out and buy stuff for Geena with it. Since I never buy anything for me, she made me promise I would use it on myself, so I did.
All in all, it was a perfect day! |

RE: OT what did you do for mothers day
Hubby cooked me prime rib, and all the trimming, my son texted me a midnight lol, and I called my family back home. Was a nice quiet day.
The good news is,"You can get used to anything." The bad news is,"You can get used to anything." :-) Sithie |

RE: Off Topic what did you do for mothers day
Sounds like everyone had a WONDERFUL Mother's Day.
My morning started with a pain pill and a flare up. SO back to bed, praying the pain would lessen. Thankfully it did. Late in the afternnoon hubby and I went to BBQ with all my side of the family. My youngest son was there. Hoildays are hard for me...I miss my oldest son with him being in the Military. So when the phone rings and I hear his voice say..."Happy Mother's Day Mom" I am always one very happy Mom. I got that call last night. So I was one HAPPY MOM. Wonderful Mother's Day for me. |

Spring...you put a smile on my face when you said you got the phone call...I have been there with my son being gone, and it is such a treat to hear their voice and know they are safe.

Slept off and on after I took my pain pill - when I was awake - I made nacho's supreme for everyone and got hubby ready to go back out to the rig.
Son got me a picture of him in a frame and candle holder - egyptian cat which will go good with my egyptian doll. So other than that it was a restful day for me. |

RE: Off Topic what did you do for mothers day
Greetings from Iowa, I,am still enjoying my Mothers Day. My son picked me up at home in Illinois and now at his home, will be here all week, We went out to a buffett on Sunday then after plants and shrubs, Sitting on the deck this AM watching the bardges going up the old Mississippi, It did rain early, Am going to a riverboat casino later, wish me luck, Daughter in law and I are heading out this am to Issabelle Blooms factory,, should be fun, All take care and will post when I get home. Tuffy
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |
