RE: Moving to Florida
BulldawgOnFire, the key to your problems is that you are near Miami. You're on the wrong side of the state! Come to the west coast, where you'll find a different Florida. I worked in Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm area in the mid 90's. You can have it. Totally different attitude.

RE: Moving to Florida
Tuffy, never had a Palmetto bug in my bed, but when I was in college in Colorado, I once woke up with a mouse. I felt something tickling my side, and when I pullled the covers back, there he was. I don't know which one of us moved faster. I liked to sleep with the windows open, and it was cold - around 40 degrees. I think he was trying to stay warm!

RE: Moving to Florida
I'll take the snakes over a mouse any day. We aren't putting no rats or mice on the ark....... Weather in PA. Spring lasts for about one week, but it is beautiful after you waddle through the mud. Then you have summer air conditioning during the day and furnace running at night, unless it goes to 100 and stays there for a couple of weeks. Fall lasts about 2 weeks, but I won't complain because it makes PA worth suffering through the rest of the year for. Now we have winter it lasts about 9 months of the year, is wet, sloppy with mud, ice and snow, goes from freezing to freezing cold. God I love this state because sooner or later you will have fall.
GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT! |

RE: Moving to Florida
Admin is right, the Gulf side is great. Have been to both and West is best. Laid back, stay away from hugh cities, Miami etc. I Love the Keys, Have always said you have not seen Florida untill you have seen the Keys. Blue water is fantastic and people are great, Key Limes and coconuts, fishing, and sea food to die for. Sure ya miss the seasons, But would give up all this snow, ice, and below -0 for sunshine and warm weather any day.
Give me palm trees and warm breezes. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

RE: Moving to Florida
never want to see Fla. again in my life......Lived in tampa 3 months and was robbed 3 times so we moved on base different kind of people on base.......everyplace has its nuts and azzholes but I love it here in oklahoma guess thats why we have so many states, so mant tastes.....loved the beaches in st pete but the damn ticket we got everytime we went for parking kinda made ya want to stay away........learned to enjoy for 2 hrs and go back to base.....miss the fantastic sunsets but hey Oklahoma has em too just a different kind....do enjoy all 4 seasons we get here even if sometimes we get em all in the same week! And you just cant beat the cost of living if you can keep the people from calif from retireing here and saying"well in california we did it this way" and our response well if it was so great what cha doing here? go home..........And now we have mennonites from PA. dropping in and buying up the medium size farms at double what they are worth.....they buy em on line and pay cash.....gotta love em they are great neighbors......even if they dont understand yet land here isnt as expensive as land there but they are learning.......
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Moving to Florida
BA - LOL...rats and snakes do get to go on the ark but I will make sure I hide them well and they can't get out. BUT, you have to figure out where to put the turkeys
![]() Admin - what's this about a snake in the pool? I want to see pics please You had to go back and pick up your hair, LOL????Tuffy - I wanna go toooooo. CC and I are to far west for you guys to detour so hopefully we'll catch up with you guys after the tents are pitched and all the work is done, LOL Oh yeah, we occasionally get a palmetto bug up here and they have them down in the Coachella Valley. It hurts when they hit you in the head

RE: Moving to Florida
Tuffy Wrote:Nurse 83 What a great idea, check out this website. FUN IN THE SUN Tuffy thank you so much..............you guys i am so going there........just not in hurricane season! seriously, not in h-season!! BUT i have this phobia about driving over water soooooooooo i need a driver-i can RIDE over water; just can't drive over it, you see! Well sometimes I have to and I have to hold my breath but even I can't do it for 110 miles!!!!!!!!!!! And yes i have been made aware how ridiculous this is-but that's why it's called a phobia! I can also eat, drink, dance (well usedtacould) and do other things over and around water just NO driving over bridges!!!!! or under tunnels (think Mobile Bay, AL) so seriously who all is going to beg, borrow, win the lotto, have a rich aunt die or what so they can come along-the more the merrier! nurse83 "After all, tomorrow is another day." Wishing you a better tomorrow! |
