Grundig- You CAN put the surgery off and not be penalized. This comes from the head of workers comp for the state of MI. He and I were speaking and I was telling him that if they didnt approve my comp soon, I wouldnt be able to finish with my therapy and that would be going against drs orders which would make it even harder to get my claim approved. He said, they might try to use that as an excuse, but if you dont have the funds, you dont have the funds and they cant hold you responsible for that.

Heres some food for thought. If you go into the hospital tomorrow in good faith as you say, and you get a hold of the insurance company and your attorney and indeed your monies have been put into dispute, so with no money coming in, no surgery right? Well, if the hospital already started getting you prepped for surgery and then you decide not to have it done, guess what? The insurance company wont pay for it, and YOU might end up being stuck with it. I wouldnt want to see this happen to you.

OK good news,,,,,,NC called me,,,,said no way the benneis were cut off,,,,said she checked ,they sent the funding out,,,,it,s a mail thing.funding will get here.
On the other hand though ,she said If I have a cold,(bad one or i,m on the verge of pneumonia) they will wait on the surgery.
so it looks like it,s gonna be ok.

Im glad you got it straightened out. Your ncm was correct, if you even have the slightest fever they will postpone your surgery. They did mine. I had the flu, a cold bordering pnuemonia which turned into pnuemonia and high temps. All came to a head 3 days before surgery.

Grundig, glad to hear that your bennies weren't cut off and that you're on your way to recovery!! Now, let's get you healthy and on the mend....then we can pick the battle back up and let them know you're not done yet!!!!!! LOL

Good luck on your surgery Grundig and I also am glad your bennies weren't cut off. s was stated above, if you are ill they will postpone which is definitely in your best interest. Good luck and I hope your wife will be able to update us if you cannot.

Sorry Grundig, I misunderstood then yes going in fighting for your surgery. Call that darn IC and get what you deserve. Show up for the surgery just as you are schudeled to have...and let the IC look like uncaring jerks they can be.

My surgeries where never scheduled until all aprovals where done. ANd I had a copy in my hand. Sorry again.

Spring- It wasnt the funding for the surgery that he thought he lost, it was his checks. He didnt want to have surgery if he didnt have any money coming in. Hopefully the ncm didnt lie to him when she told him that the check was just tied up in the mail. He lives like 90 minutes from me, I dont know if his mail carriers are like mine. My mail is usually never delayed. However, I did get the line well the check is in the mail before and it didnt show up, so 10 days later they issued a new check. Guess what arrived the day before? the first check. (shaking head) they didnt mail it when they said they did, liars.
