I'm sorry for you loss. I know how I felt when we lost one of our own, he was 17 and had live a full life. Try to remember the happy memories of the time you shared, and the enjoyment you both got from each other. You'll always have your memories. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi All:
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. Here is a picture of Lucky D who was a golden retriever/spaniel. (and the little black one is Trouble his brother who was dashund & terrier he died in 2004 of melanoma of the jaw)....I had Lucky D for 16 1/2 years but we think he was actually 17 1/2. He was found on the freeeway by animal control. I thank God for finding him at the Animal Control Center, it was our Blessing to have found such a sweet spirit. I was able to be with him when he took his last breath, I felt it on my hand. He just slipped away so peacefully.
He has been there for me through my marriage, current divorce, injury & surgery and all of my flare-ups. If I was puking in the toliet he stood right by me and didn't leave my side, not even for a sip of water. As I sit on my sofa, I think of all the times we would dance to music, sit in the sun, go to Petsmart, and those car rides...to me he was priceless. My little Angel Face is now in Heaven with his brother Trouble having a good time...in time I will feel a bit better but for now...the sadness & loneliness is just heartbreaking.
I will be ok...soon...
THEN, today I got a call from my Mother that our family friend got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, they found a spot on his liver...
Oh well....so the tears have been poring endlessly....but again...I WILL BE OK!

Dear Babe - I can see why you said my Smokie looks just like your Lucky D, they could have been from the same litter. Here is another twist, our Coco that we lost about three years ago could have been Trouble's sister. Bet you thought I was done huh? Here is another...your nickname for Lucky D was Angel Face and ours for Smokie is Fuzz Butt. I know you're not in the mood to smile right now but I thought you might like to know.

I don't think God would make an earth with all these beautiful animals if he did not allow them into heaven, so I know your babies will patiently be waiting for you

You have been in my prayers and I will add your friend as well. I am sorry you had to get such horrible news on top of everything else. Don't lose my number sweetie, it is on for you 24/7.

I had a pair of Shitzu,s I got them when they were 6 week,s old ,,,,, I had the pets for 18 Human year,s ,,,,yep that,s a long time ,,,,but after a whie 18 year,s later ,I had to put them to sleep,,,,,,I cried for 2 week,s.
