IME tomorrow

I am having my IME tomorrow and it is 2 1/2 hours away. I know the ride is going to be hard but there is a court order for me to attend. I usually feel pretty bad after such a long ride, do you think the Dr. will understand this or will he think I'm just complaining if I'm in more pain than usual. I'm ok if the ride is an hour or under and my husband does stop to let me rest when it is longer, but after the FCE I don't trust these people because they turn everything around to make you look bad.

please TODAY write down all your problems....what you can and cannot do, your pain levals,all your owies and how things have changed .write down all your meds.
what you are writting is a report on you and your injuries do an outline first and come back and add as you remember tonite before you go to bed write it all up to include all docs you have seen and tomorrow when they hand you that piece of paper with 3 lines to write your injuries write"SEE ATTACHED 3 PAGE LIST"they are also gonna want to know HOW it happened this is a very important list you want this filed with all your other court papers....please put how many pages your list is......many IME doc will just half listen and make a report in favor of who is paying them.....with this paper if it ever comes to court you are covered

backache, does ice help your pain at all? I hurt more after a short time in the car and my husband and I went to a wedding that was about 3 hours away. I used ice off and on on the way up and it helped a lot. If it will help you any, I would do that and try to let the dr know what you did to be comfortable for the drive. That may help him to know that even though you are hurting, you are trying to find ways to deal with it. I hope everything goes well for you!

Thanks guys I appreciate all of you so much. I don't know if I should tell him about this arm thing since the IC is more than likely going to say it doesn't have anything to do with the lumbar injury. Like I told you before I did hurt my upper back months prior to the lumbar injury and wrote out an incedent report, but the pain seemed to be gone after a week or so so I didn't do anything about it. If they do go by the incedent report will I have to go through all of this he** over again? Please pray for me I have been hurting so bad lately and I don't want to go through this again.

I hate to say it but the increase in Pain You feel from the long Drive will help in the Examination as it can show how Pain can control Your Life.
Be honest but do not offer any information unless asked.
The most dangerous part is in the waiting room.Do not engage in conversation with anyone because Attorney's have been know to have their Spy's there trying to find information to use against You.
I had one sit close to Me before My Hearing trying to get information they could use.

Best of Luck Tomorrow Backache, and I Hope the Pain isn't too Bad! Jayne has given You some Very Valuable Info., If I may Add just One thing. Give the Dr. the Original Papers You have Written, and Make Two Copies, One for You, and One for Your Attorney, and Send it to them! This Way the Dr. May try and Say they didn't Receive any Info,. from You, but at least You and Your Attorney will have Copies to Argue with!! Also, when and If they Examine You, don't let them Push You too Much, if Your Arm can only go so High, and they try and go Higher, Stop Them, You don't need any Added Pain! And a Witness such as Your Husband in the Exam Room is Great, if it's Allowed! Best of Luck, and Please let us know how it Goes!!

I asked the nurse to initial my copies.....(the ones I sent to lawyer)...she did one better she took the ones I was giving to doc copied them and signed her name that they were copies of what was given to her by me to give to doc.

I just got my results from my ime I had done on December 10.
It was of course very negative and it said my surgery was not necessary at this time.
My POR hd this report in a week and called me n for an appt.
He insists my neck surgery needs to be done before my shoulder.
I finally got report-
idiot dr says I can make hand gestures ( i wish I did make hand gesturee to him)
my NCM was in waiting room watching me the whole time

Now we have a hearing scheduled in March- my dr said he felt he has strong evidence to prve the neck needs to be done first.
I have had bronchitis for the past 8 days and everyime I cough it hurts my neck.
Good luck with your IME .take a witness so the doctor cant lie.
