RE: ok serious talk here
I understand that they want to stimulate the economy and get people spending, but I know a lot are like me and will end up using any money they get to pay off debts. That's what I used the money for last time and will again this time. I don't think there are many people who live debt free now. We must have learned that from our government. I agree Jayne, our national debt is huge and the elected officials just keep making it larger. The US always gives aid to other countries. If we aren't careful, we may be asking for help in the next hundred years. I don't think the government thinks about the future, unless it has to do with their pensions.

RE: ok serious talk here
the economy does poorly every election year. That is do in part to us and the world not knowing what is going to happen. We ( the United States ) have the largest gross domestic product in the world. As of 2004 our gdp was 10.1 trillion, followed by China with 5.6 trillion. The free trade agreement was designed in part to lower the deficit. As long as the dollar is strong, we can sell products over seas and across the border for more. When the dollar is weak ( as it is now ) the products are sold for less.

The stimulas package is being designed to get more money flowing. The more money we have, the more we will spend and yes the majority will end up in the hands of big business. And that is not a bad thing. As big business gets more money ( if they want to remain big or even stay alive ) they will have to spend more, whether it be in more research, hireing more people, expanding, ect.ect...

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.
