I too was born in chicago became a okie when I was 12, lived there in 68 during the riots, crabby know where cicero is.lived in cicero for about a year, mostly lived in the city,right off of augusta blvd., ahhhhhhh the memories.Halftrak

I sure do remember!!! My godfather/uncle...OK not the kind of Godfather your thinking of..LOL...he used to own a ceramic business in Berwyn....not to far from there....haven't been there since I was a kid....and now when I go back to the south side...I get lost...it's changed so much....I remember my dad putting on the riot gear and leaving the house...was so scared back then...unbelievable times...but he always came home thank goodness....My papa made it into the Illinois supreme court for the first on site line up...I was so proud of him....My youngest brother called the other night and we were reminishing about what we put our parents thru....especially my father...we certainly weren't angels....but parents were really pretty cool
I moved up North of the City on Wisconsin border with hubby, when he was on loan to the local up here....and I think the month after we settled in...he was put back to Chicago and South side.... go figure

be glad your not here wind chill is 2 below and suppose to be worse tomarrow....

That's awesome...does the band go on the road at all? nothing like driving thru Chicago blasting "Sweet home Chicago" from blues brothers....Or when on the midnight shift, blasting it in the squad car responding to calls....lot of fun....

Yeah Crabby, my sister lives in Berwyn right now, hoping to go up there this summer to visit.I do not miss the cold, last time I was up there was about 3 or 4 years ago. Still have lots of family there.I really miss the food though.Halftrak
