insurance ?
It was brought to my attention last night that the working people in the US pay for all or most of Government officials wages and insurance. I never really thought about it before. Some keep receiving these benefits even after they no longer hold the position to which they were elected. I know this is true with the president that he gets wages, insurance, secret service body guards and such, but how far down the line does this go? Even while they are in office we the hard working people pay for their insurance so maybe they don't care what happens to us for this reason, since I'm quite sure none of them or their families will have to go through what we do with WC. I know people that work for the gov. have excellant insurance policies so again they more than likely don't realize how bad it can get. Does anyone have the time to find out who keeps their benefits after they are no longer elected officials. I would look it up, but I'm in so much pain I can't sit for more than a few minutes. Thanks

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

I do know the President is Covered for Life, and if I'm not Mistaken, any Congressman who Retires from Public office has Full Insurance as a Part of their Retirement Package. As Far as the One or Two Term Officials, I don't know. At least I gave You Part of the Answer, I'm too Tired and Sore to Look it up Either!! (LOL)! I Hope You feel Better backache, and have a Great Weekend!!!Smile

RE: insurance ?
Hi....It goes WAY WAY down the line! If you work for the Federal Gov.....you will keep your insurance benefits after you retire & until you die. I have a friend who is being interviewed for a rehab position there now, and he will receive insurance benefits for life (this is one of his incentives for changing jobs!)
