RE: finding doctor
Unfortunately Tony, you may not be able to find a Dr in Myrtle Beach that is willing to take an out of state WC claim. Each state has differing amounts that they will accept as far as payment on WC claims, and Ohio's may be lower than what a Dr in Myrtle Beach may be willing to accept.
Then, if Ohio WC is paing for the PTD, they have to approve the Dr in Myrtle Beach to do your rating. Even after all of that, they can still deny the rating and make you go for a 2nd, even 3rd or more if they want until the rating number is one that they will accept. You may have to go back to Ohio and get your PTD from a Dr there. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: finding doctor
workers comp is state specific not a national or global coverage so it can be difficult to transfer benefits out of state.
You can contact the BWC and see what they recommend. You may have to travel for such a one time exam. |

RE: finding doctor
Ohio BWC guarantees payment for a BWC requested exam and the provider is not required to register with BWC for a one time consult since there is no Dr.- patient relationship.
Any Dr. who is CIME or FAADEP certified to do an impairment exam ( required under BWC regs) can provide the C-92 impairment exam. Once you have identified a willing provider - again, that payment is guaranteed within 14 days I believe, your BWC nurse case manager will handle all further contact with the Drs office so things go smoothly. If you exam is not at the request of the BWC then all bets are off. |

RE: finding doctor
This post just made me think of something. Why is it that i got hurt in NH and i have a Ma. insurance co? I had my PIR rating done in NH at my doctors office and when the IC sent me to their doctor for a IME it was in Ma.
This does not make sense to me of why they did that. I thought the ic had to stay within their state of injury? This is all getting very confusing. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
