RE: Question for others with RSD
Sithie Wrote:Nurse called me back this morning, she said she didn't think think there was anything Dr would do as all the drugs I am on now are so addictive. She said she would call back this afternoon. Can you believe this BS?

Sithie...If it was me...I would be making an appointment with this Dr. And having a good talk with him...asking him if he feels he can no longer treat the RSD or the currents problems you are having maybe it is time to have a referral to a new Dr. Do you know a new Dr that you would like to be seeing..so you can ask for the referral to be for that Dr. You sure don't want wc to be picking out the Dr. They most likely send you to some quack. By the way how are you feeling? Sure hoping the aweful flare up has lessened. The longest I have ever had to deal with a major flare up is four days. But I have had where I have 3-4 a month. RSD is just a nightmare. Don't you wish we would just wake up from this nightmare. This morning I woke in a aweful flare...thankfully my meds calmed it down after I layed and turned up my stimulator....it lasted only three hours. As you know the pain is always there. It is the aweful flare ups that can just make us wonder what did we do to derserve this. I try to tell myself...That god never has gave me more then I can handle...not that I haven't asked WHY...but I am thankful for just so many other things. Wasn't meaning to get on a pity party of me...wanted to check on you. Hope you are Having a Great Mother's Day!

Well they doubled my lyrica, so am on 300mg every 12 hours, plus the avinza. I am horribly stoned, but the pain has lessoned TREMENDOUSLY, so I am happy. Hopefull the stoned feeling will pass after I adjust to the new dose.

Thanks for being there for me through all this ya'll.

Sithie

The good news is,"You can get used to anything."
The bad news is,"You can get used to anything."

I'm glad you made it thru this flare up, I know how you feel and stoned isn't so bad after all (this coming from a cop LOL)!
I know my last major flare up was a few months ago and my doctor's told me the same about my meds, I looked one in the eye and asked him if he wanted to trade lives, and if it was him or someone he loved would he they himself or them this same BS, he answered no, and gave me my needed drugs!
God speed cause this RSD sucks!

RE: Question for others with RSD
Sithie...That is good news...yes, I would say stoned is better then that aweful pain. I would think some of that is a side effect that will lessen with time. May not all go away but if that is all you can get...take what you can get.

Here is a question for all that deal with aweful pain flare ups. The last time I went to the Dr...he talked about a lollipop you suck on and it is to help with pain quickly. I can't remember the name of it. But I chose to increase some of my other medications....but if that doesn't help next month he wants to try these lollipops. Has anyone everyheard of them. Would like to hear your opinions.
