Back injuries with nerve damage, Still in Limbo
I recently had a scs inplanted. I still get the intermitten sharp shooting pain down the back of the left thiegh. I have noticed new pains. I had one the other night. the little toe on the left foot was kiiling me. It all the suddened starting to hurt like crazy. It was almost emergency room pain. When in bent up from laying down the pain went away. The other pain was the left side of the left ankel. That statrted today and has since passed.
The two examples givine above happened last night and today. They are not my normal pain syptoms. Any Ideals?????? I see nureo and pm on the 15th and 16th. I am just looking for some personal insite. Thank you. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. AQA, I'm Sorry I haven't replied Sooner, My Pain has been Pretty High also. Many Times when a SCS is Implanted, if the Leads to the Spine don't adhere to the Spinal Cord, or they Move, this can Happen. I would Suggest You Call Your Dr. with these New Developments, and Start a Pain Log, with the Date, Time, and Type of Pain. There is also Some People that the SCS Works well over Time for, and Others that it doesn't! I Wish You the Very Best, and Call Your Dr. Soon! (By the Way, were You given Breakthrough Meds. in Case this would Happen?) This may be an Avenue that could Help!! Best of Luck AQA, and have a Great New Year!!

Still, I don't think it is a matter of the leads moving. I don't know if it is the dr regular procedure or if he did it becase a test lead came out. Anyway, he stiched the two leeds the the muscel in the back. He cut a six to eight inch incetion for the stiching. I am starting to think the changes where because I was doing alot more walking and driving, that I did not do before the scs. As far as the meds.. Yes I have some. I am wienning my self off of them. I don't take them during the day unless I have no choice.
Thank-you for the wake up call. I was recording the changes that were taking place when I had the injections. But I had not thought about doing it with the scs. RE: Back injuries with nerve damage, Still in Limbo
Your Welcome AQA, and I Hope they can Find the Problem for You. More Activity could be the Cause, but Please keep in Mind the chance of the SCS Leads moving on the Spinal Cord. I understand that they are stitched to the Muscle, that should be the lines going to the actual point that the Leads Meet the Spinal Cord, but if the Leads don't adhere to the Cord, they can Move. I Wish You the Very Best, and I Hope All goes Well!
