settlement questions
Will settlement only happen when I have heal 100% ? I may return to work on light duty before I'm healed 100% and wasn't sure how that worked.

I recall seeing a settlement chart in regards to injuries somewhere and settlement payment amounts but cant find it on this web site. Does anyone have a link to it? I'm in Maryland.

How do they figure my case on the chart as far as settlement payment and this % amount?
I have had a broken skull, brain damage -had surgery on brain, 2 broken vertebra , cracked pelvis , broken finger with surgery , broken upper arm with surgery , broken teeth , vision ,and hearing problems which have healed . My brain appears to be healing after a 2 month period of memory loss and the doctors think currently my brain is overall at a average normal level although Im beeing sent to another specialist 100 miles away for a second opinon . My broken bones also seem to be healing well.
I did get a lawyer for both my wc and for the third party who are at fault in a mva. Should the seetlement be a easy thing or do you think its gonna get ugly?My lawyer seems to think my company (self insured) has been putting my health and health care first.

RE: settlement questions
then you are very lucky...if you get back to 100% there may be no settlement from WC, you may get pain and suffering from 3rd party

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: settlement questions
It is sometimes better to settle before you reach 100% or even MMI because the potential liability of your employer is higher increasing the settlement value of your case. I'm guessing that your lawyer is working on a contingency fee, so I'm sure he will tell you when the best time to settle your case is to obtain maximum dollar value.

RE: settlement questions
Maybe I should have said as well as I will get instead of 100%.
Ive got a feeling I maybe well enough for light duty in a couple months but not well enough to return my regular duties for several more months.
