The true meaning of Christmas
Yesterday I recieved a gift which meant the world to me. A friend of mine from work called and said her and her husband wanted to come and visit. I was so happy since these two are such wonderful people. When they arrived they had a beautiful poinsettia plant for me and in the plant was a card. As I opened the card I witnessed one of the most loving gestures I have ever seen. The card contained money. The money wasn't the true gift, it was the thought and love which with it was given that truly was the gift. I know that each person that had contributed the money could barely afford to do so. The one girl has lived pay check to pay check for years since she takes care of her elderly mother . Another has a husband who has been an invalid for years and whose medical bills are overwhelming. Anothers husband had been off of work for a long while and she had to work as much overtime as she could just to make ends meet. The last is 68 years old and still has to work so she can pay her bills. I know every one of them had to sacrifice something to be able to give me this gift. I truly feel like the riches person in the world for having them as friends and I know that the world is a better place because there are angels like them here on earth.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: The true meaning of Christmas
None of my co-workers have forgotten me thank God, they call me on a regular basis even after 6 months. They want me back to work as much as I want to get back to work with these wonderful people. Now the higher ups aren't real happy about me being off, but my co-workers all know me well enough to know I am truly in constant pain and would not be able to do my job. Can anyone blame me for loving a job when I worked with people like this.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: The true meaning of Christmas
Backache that was a lovely story and it has so much meaning to me right now. I too saw the true meaning of Christmas at work this year though the secret santa program. I am the one who knows all the ends and outs of the program and I am the one who you all trusted with your money that none of you really has in abundance. And yet, you all were so determined to be a part of it, to help someone who may have needs at Christmas. I know you all sacrificed so much to make it happen for others. For those that received, I believe what Still in Limbo said above is so true. It is the giving that is the most enjoyable than the receiving. I have a whole list of thanks yous that I will post after Christmas from the people who received this Christmas, but I believe I can say without a doubt, that those of us that were able to give received so much more than those that are receiving. There is nothing better than being part of a program that goes directly to those in need especially when children are involved. I have learned so much though the coodination of this program. I have learned that there is so much good in the world, and that we as a group care more than I ever knew before. I saw people who really might have requested assistance feel honored that they were able to give. I saw people who wanted to give to make sure that all the children had a great Christmas and never stop believing in Christmas. What a joy this has been. Tears of happiness and bewilderment would stream down my face daily as I would receive the request, as I would receive the donations, and as the gifts came in and the families were so happy and felt so loved. That is what is so important. We must always embrace our family's, at home and here on this forum. I feel so bless this Christmas, not because I have beautifully wrapped presents under the tree but because I can call you all family. Love you all and please have a very Merry Christmas. Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
