Tulsa And My Hubby

Tulsa And My Hubby
When we went to Tulsa my hubby didn't know what to expect.
I told him we were going to visit with some online friends.

I haven't talked to him much about work comp and I try not to complain about my injuries...too much.

My husband and his brother co-own a wholesale company.
All his brothers are business owners. When I first meet my husband
he worked at the family owned business with his father head of the company and I worked for the business for the first years of our marriage. Later in our marriage he & his older brother started their own business.

At family dinners talk would turn to the high cost of work comp and it was a sore subject for the business owners of the family.

And my husband, well it took going to Tulsa and visiting with the other
Injured Workers and their spouses for him to understand the true picture of work comp.

Thank you Forum Family

RE: Tulsa And My Hubby
Bummer, I am so happy for you. I understand completely where he was and what he is seeing now, may make him feel powerless and yet have a desire to want to do something about it. I know as a key employee in organizations, my first impression about workmans compensation was that it was different than what it actually is. I am so glad that I have come to know everyone and had these personal experiences myself. Sometimes you truly have to walk in someones foot steps before you can understand their struggles. Smiling...I knew I liked your husband. He really is cool .... as you are also. Miss you both lots.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: Tulsa And My Hubby
Thank you Red, I believe my husband was the only person at our gathering that was not an injuried worker with that and being a business owner it is only natural that at first he would have a different understanding of work comp.

The important things is that he now has a true picture of how work comp does and does not work.
