Red- its been 24 hrs or so and they still havent come back Sad

according to HP, I have a bad virus and the only way to get all my stuff back is to do a complete restore, meaning IM going to lose everything, including priceless pics of my baby. Im so sad about this. Once I do the restore, I will be gone for a day or so until I can get a copy of AOL software. Ive been at this computer since last night with only breaks to go potty and feed the kidling. It took me 15 hrs just to get AOL open. blah. If anything else goes wrong this week, im gonna lose my mind! Well, whats left of it. Sad

Prncess, I never said anything about you leaving that I can think of.

Computer, do you have windows XP, if so, go to programs, then accesories, then system tools, and perform a system back date restore, go back one week, then since you have AOL., run their Virus scan, they offer it for free, it, takes awhile, but will find it. Otherwise let me know what system you have and type of CPU computer.

Bad boy- No, Monster said its good to see ya back. I didnt want anyone thinking that I was leaving is all.

I do have windows xp. The start menu and programs are all like shortcuts with no programs attached to them. Nothing opens. I cant access the control panel, accessories, system anything.... But somehow I was able to get aol open clicking on the keep in touch with hp link on the start menu. Very odd. If I download something off the net, program wise, When I go to open it, I get the same error message. No program attached to this file. One thing I did figure out is I can email my pics to myself using aol. I can email 12 at a time. Thats a huge relief. Granted it will take me hrs lol

wow...princess I am so sorry to hear this. I hate it when my computer is messed up. My husband does it all for me, but I can't get on it while he is working on it. I have a lot of pictures on my computer also that I do not want to loose. I do two things that protect them for me. One I copy onto CD's. Two I put them in albums on my snapfish account. I do a lot of scrapbooking so I like to use the same picture sometimes in more than one scrapbook page. This make it easy for me to access then any time I want. I don't usually leave them on the computer. I hope you can get all your pictures. Pictures are priceless, especially of your little one. Good luck.

Just tried to IM prncess, it comes up on my screen but she must not be getting it, she has the same system I do.

As of midnight my computer was up and running. I worked for hours with a rep from HP. He truly was my savior. He had me move all documents and pictures to the c drive. Once that was done, we did a system restore. I still have my pics Smile

However, the computer is running slower than ever. I have a lot of updating to do. Aol wont fully load, therefore I cant access any webpage from aol. I can from my netzero though and thats how I got here. I will only spend a couple hrs a day doing the updating. Poor geena had to play by herself all day yesterday while I was working on the puter. She got bored and pulled out every toy she has and now I have no more floor space lol. PLus she had a food fight with the dog. grrrrrrr. There was popcorn crumbs all over the bed.

Tuffy, I did get your IM, I was on with HP and couldnt answer. Im sorry.

Prncess, I need to know what kind of computer you have, HP xxxxx ? Then what Windows system your running? Is this a CPU, or is this a Laptop?

I have a HP pavilion 322n. Its a CPU. The computer is about 5 yrs old. Im running windows XP with this system.

Ok, good, look, if you do a system restore, a week or months back, then system tools, perform C drive disc clean, then perform C & D drive defrag, then go to internet explore, click tools, and then delete, history, tempory files and cookies. Then if you can get into control panel, Go to JAVA looks like a Coffee Cup, sometimes it's left click, sometimes right click, depends if you updated it or not, but you should all the time. And clean and delete those files. Then perform a Complete shut down power off, then wait 10 to 30 seconds, and power up.
