Family In Need
A family that lives to the north of me lost their home tonight.

This is a family with five childre, (Mom & Dad are seperated)

I was in the yard this eve and smelled smoke, looked accross the

pasture and their home was in flames.

All members of the family were home and got out okay.

This was a mobile home and there was no insurance.

I am looking for ways to help this family that lost all they own.

Makes me think how fortunate we all are.

Giving my kids an extra hug tonight.

RE: Family In Need
My house burned down 14 years ago when I had been gone for an hour.My daughter was 10 and husband's son was 15.The red cross will help with clothing money. The gave us gift certificates to whatever store we wanted to go.Let them know to get in touch with them or someone can do that for them. Our church helped out a lot with money and household items, also the neighborhood had a benefit. The community second hand stores usually will give things for free. All these things can help. The hardest is the emotional upset that goes with this.It is very hard on the children especially when all their things have been lost.I will say a prayer for them.It hurts me to here about this, because I know how devastating this is.

RE: Family In Need
I had some of the children's clothes that were left at my house and took them next door.

Poor Mom was sitting in her car in shock watching the fireman work.

RE: Family In Need
Bummer, I have a whole bunch of clothes that the girls have outgrown and they are still in good shape. I was getting ready to take them and some of my clothes to the thrift store, but I hadn't gotten there yet. What sizes (and what sex) are the children?

RE: Family In Need
Bummer, I will pm you tomorrow and let you know what sizes I have. If they will fit at all, the family is more than welcome to the clothes. I will also have them in my prayers.

RE: Family In Need
Bummer - I will put the family in my prayers. I can't help with clothing, all my kids are grown and I'm way bigger than mom. I will see what I can do with my budget, can only try, can't promise at this point. Thank you for letting us know.

RE: Family In Need

Bk....I'm here too with the group. My youngest has lots of size 6-8 she was going to give away. Suits, jeans, sweaters, etc. and I have some 10's that my one leg won't get into anymore. Please let me know. I willl be happy to box it all and send it to the family. Some of my daughter's stuff is brand new. Prayers will be said for them.
