RE: Cap's update for badboy
Tuffy, I've been using my Medicare Parts A or B, I never got a letter? Hummm , what's up with that, are they being selective. or is it that I never used the Medicare for my Injury part?

Bad Boy,   If you did not use your Medicare for any of your injurys then there is nothing to worry about.   But my attorney said it is just a form that needs to be signed and sent to Medicare in case it (medicare ) was used.

When I get the new form in the next few days I will copy and send to you.

hi tuffy.....no, he never rec'd a medicare card or approval until 2/07 and yet they're saying he was covered in 3/06. nice of them to tell us now. i dropped him from our private insurance as soon as he got medicare since it was so expensive. our private insurance paid alot of his WC medical and have been reimbursed. they make no sense at times.

RE: Cap's update for badboy
Can I aks how old your hubby is?. has he retired, or of age for retirement? This may be where the problem is. He may have been on Social Security Disability, and as of 2/07 retirement Social Security which are two different things. But may I suggest contacting SSA and see what they say, There has to be a local office in your area and I would call them. It could be altogether some other issue, And all we are doing is trying to guess. Lots of Luck!

RE: Cap's update for badboy
morning tuffy......he turned 50 2 weeks after approved. poor guy is at his wits end. he wanted to invest some of his settlement and is told he can't and stay on SSD. i don't know if the little check he gets a month is worth all of this. he can't work but he still has a brain and can make money from his settlement. not sure what he's going to do. it's not so much losing the check, and please don't think i am being ungrateful, BUT is he buys a HUD house and pays someone to do the work and sells it for a profit, ine house be make him 4 xs what he makes a year from SSD. if he sells 2-3 a year we can afford to pay the health insurance premiums. makes sence doesn't it. he was a builder so he loves this kind of stuff and having someone else do the work doesn't bother him at all. he just likes being involved in his trade. decisions, decisions.

jayne......i don't know what i was thinking LOL

RE: Cap's update for badboy
hi jayne.......that's what we were thinking BUT at some point my WC case will be settled also. i can retire on my disability pension or wait another 9 years to just collect my pension and SS. i was planning on my disability pension AND ssd since it gives me a little more than my income before i was injured. maybe i just won't apply for ssd. my pension couldn't care less who/what else i collect as it's my money anyway. the only difference would be the health insurance. neither of us would have medicare until we turn 65. we're playing ith it alot in our minds as i really believe we can better our situation if he does this, been in the business for 30+ years. attorney suggested he incorportate it and keep the money in the business. food for thought?

RE: Cap's update for badboy
Hi Cap,
Glad your surgery went well. As for the foggy head afterwards, it may be they gave you alot of pain meds intranveinisly (sp) during the surgery...as after you wake up, shoulders are very painful, so they give you extra pain meds to get you through. I also had a hard time after all my shoulder surgeries from this.....violent vomiting, woosey as heck, dizzy and foggy for several days after. Perhaps this is why you are having a hard time. Let me tell you it does wear off, but it may take longer. Drinking as Badboy advised, to flush the system, is what was told to me too after surgery by the nurse.
Hope your pain is relieved soon. Take care, Lilly Smile
