For those who have been SSD approved...
I am seeing threads about SSD and not knowing which diagnosis got them approved. I was wondering if those who have been approved would mind listing all of their diagnosis that were listed on their SSD apps here so that maybe we can see a pattern and give those of us who have just applied a little hope
If you don't feel right about listing them I understand, just thought it might be kind of a fact finding thread. Thanks for any help you guys can be ![]() Monster Please click the link below to help provide food for homeless animals. RE: For those who have been SSD approved...
Monster...haven't applied yet so this is just what I was told to do when the time comes. List all physical , mental and emotional illnesses. With SSD it's not all about your WC injuries. Hopefullly someone will come along with more knowledge. Thais is what my Dr. told me. CAP p.s. you have mail. God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: For those who have been SSD approved...
Monster, I was Approved for SSDI at the Age of 42, on My First try, in 3mos./3wks. without an Attorney! Just to give an Idea to those who Apply, this is what I've Learned, and then I will List My Injuries that got My Approval:
SSDI Uses Age Brackets as Well as Injuries or Illness when they Consider an Approval. 90% of the First Applications are usually denied. (Give or Take a small Percentage) They Younger You Are, the Harder it Usually is to get. Make Sure that All of Your paper Work is in Order on Your First Application, a lot of Times Applications are Not Approved for Lack of Info. My Only Injuries are the Ones listed in My Signature Below, I had No Other Medical Issues other than Slight Pre-Hypertension. And at my Age bracket, I Believe 95% Are Denied. If You are Denied at First, don't Give Up, if need Be Hire a Certified SS Attorney to Help You with Your Appeal. I was Very Happy to be Approved so Quickly, but also Very Saddened that My Condition is so Severe as to Be Approved as Quick! And Please be Prepared. SSDI can be an Emotional Roller Coaster just as W/C is, so Please don't give up too Early, Fight for What is Yours!! That's the Basics that I have learned in the SSDI Area, I Hope they Help Some of You along the Way, and Monster, if You have applied, Best of Luck my Friend!! Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

RE: For those who have been SSD approved...
My husband applied and denied twice we are not waiting on a hearing. SS said his diseases qualify, he has Stenosis of the neck and DDD in the low back. But they said because of his age 46 (then) and he could still move is arms and legs he would not qualify. The letter also said if he became paralized from the Stenosis they would re evaluate. He had surgery on his neck last month, his spine was impinged. Has left side weakness. He was in a wheel chair but is walking with assistance now since the surgery. All you can do is pray, and wait on the hearing date.
Always believe in yourself. No matter how much some people will make you doubt yourself. |

RE: For those who have been SSD approved...
Thank you all for your replies. Anyone who would like can also PM me. I appreciate you all taking the time to answer and I know long posts had to have magnified your pain levels so thank you again for doing this. I don't know if I will be approved or not. I am kind of like Still, I never know from one day to the next what my pain levels will be so it's difficult to stick to a work schedule. I wish I could find computer work from home but most of the stuff you find online is scams. I woke up Monday unable to move my head at all and my right arm would only move part way and had to be kept close to my body to even be able to do that, LOL...I've learned to live with what I have but like all of you all I want to do is return to work....Thank you all again for your replies

RE: For those who have been SSD approved...
Monster,
Like mistreated's husband I am still waiting, although in my case it's the outcome of my hearing 3 months ago. I have minor bulges at C6-c7, T-7, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1 I also suffer from TOS, DDD, Bone spurs on my left shoulder, and narrowing of the joint space on my right shoulder - or better known as OA. Not to mention sever muscle spasms and a muscle (trapazesius) that doesn't work properly. Also I think some of the other stuff that was mentioned was thinning of the muscles in the shoulder itself on the right side. Sceloris of the hip joint, Osteoporosis and Osteopernia. And lets not forget severe migraines that no longer can be controlled by preventative medications alone and fatigue. Not to mention currently being tested for auto-immune disease just they haven't narrowed it down enough yet. Think that is about all of it. |
