Sad I could really use some advice
WEll first of all sorry I have not been on to post for a few days. I have a doctors appointment monday with my pcp iam having alot of problems with my depression setting in real bad. i have my good days but iam starting to have more bad days than good days. well here is my concern. I called my attorneys office yesterday cause I was told by him if i didnt recieve a wc check to call him so i did. i told his associate that i had the head of hr's word that my benifits would not stop so when i didnt get my check i got a little worried cause he also told me not to come back to work till they have me looked at by a company doc. so iam also scared that i got fired know what i mean? another attorney looked it up and said it looks like my benfits havent stopped and that I went back to work and that Iam off again that it might take time for the ck to get here. has that ever happened to anyone else? also the doc that my employers attorney was tring to get me into wont see me so i have STILL have not been seen. in kansas is there any thing I can do? my attorney just told me to sit and wait it out. Iam scared cause my knee has nver been looked at and now some times my foot feels like its on fire but cool to the touch. its been almost 4 months sence my injury.

Do on to others as you would want them to do on to you

I would call the WC division in you state and ask them.

The good news is,"You can get used to anything."
The bad news is,"You can get used to anything."

RE: I could really use some advice
Hi Sis249...first lets talk about the WC check not arriving on time. I am confused slightly about this. Did you go back to work for awhile and then stop working due to the injury again?

Second, most smart companies would tell you not to come back to work until you have a doctors release and you are examined by the company doctor. This does not imply that you have lost your job. The reason companies do this is to protect themselves from more liability if you were still at risk. And maybe they do it to protect the employees, I said maybe.

Third, you need to see a doctor now. I don't quit understand why your lawyer would tell you to sit it out. Here in New Jersey if you are cut off from workman's compensation there is a motion that can be filed for temporary relief for medical care. I am not sure about Kansas. Have you explained all this to your lawyer and not his associate. It sounds like this lawyer is only talking to you from knowledge on a piece of paper. I think it would be in your best interest to talk to your lawyer.

Fourth, have you communicated with the company doctor that the doctor he or she sent you to can not see you and then asked him or her what your next step would be. If not, I would do this immediately. The company doctor may not understand the urgency of your need to see a doctor and also may not realize that you have not been able to see the other doctor. He may be waiting for a report from that doctor.

Last, it is understandable that you would feel a lot of depression. I am glad that you are going to see your doctor about this. It is not something that a person wants to get out of control.

Best wishes, and I hope this helps some.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

Do what your attorney suggests. They know your states rules on treatment and benefit payments. Keep as active as possible; keep in regular contact with family & friends. The depression can be difficult symptom to defeat and it makes recovery from the physical problems more difficult; don't ignore it.

Everyone above has given you excellent advice, and what 1171 posted about depression is right on the mark!! No matter how you feel get yourself around other people. Sometimes hearing other people complain helps you to understand that you're not the only one with problems, and that can sometimes help! Stay strong, fight the fight, and post here often, you know you can vent here and caring folks will listen!!Wink
