do I or dont I
ok now I know Im crazy I cant tell if I have a appionment or not here is what the letter says
you have been released as a patient of ..dr name due to circumstances beyound our control we are unable to complete the treatment recommended by your physician for your contined care

having other insurance or obtaining new insurance will not resolve this issue due to the way insurance companies handle the payment of medical services for treament of workers compensation injuried THE PRACTICE HAS SCHEDULED YOU AN APPOINTMENT ON 1-25-08- AT ..address dr name.. if you desire to disuss this decision a phyician remains available to see you for 30 days following the date of this letter in the event the need arises before you find another dr this will give you time to sccure another dr your other appointments have been cancelled

I will do one day at a time no more no less

RE: do I or dont I
It sounds to Me that You have Been Dropped By Your Treating Dr. for One reason or another, but they will Keep the Dr. Noted on the Form Available to You for 30 Days if needed for You to find another Dr. Something or Someone has caused this Dr. to Decide to no Longer Treat You, You may want to Call and Find out Why! but You are also going to have to find another Dr. to Care for You within the Next 30 Days! That's what I'm Reading, Best of Luck!!Wink

RE: do I or dont I
I agree with Still, and it sounds to me that WC is the reason, weather you have other insurance or not it is still a WC claim.
I feel you need to find another treating DR that will accept WC
Good Luck hunting and hope you find someone soon.

May I suggest that if you have a Physicians referal in your area that you contact them and see who accepts WC patients. Or if you have a family (PCP ) Dr that you ask for a referal from them.

RE: do I or dont I
I'm Reading that Your Appts. will be canceled 30 Days after the Date of the Letter, and 1-25-08 is after the 30 Day Period. Now if Your Dr. has left that Practice, and Started His/Her Own Practice, that may be the change of Address and the Reason for the Letter. You should Call and Clarify the Reason for the Letter! Good Luck!!Wink

RE: do I or dont I
Just as still has said, your doctor has dropped you, they no longer wish to treat you, due to the work comp issue. Most doctors have to put up with the wc bullying, but some will not, and would just rather have nothing to do with them or the patient if there is too much flack from the wc ins. company.

They will allow you to come in to see the doctor mentioned, which will be at a different address. I would say that they have two or three different locations (offices), mine does. but only within the 30 days, and if it is really necessary if you have not found a replacement doctor before then.

You can call, but I doubt that they will give you a straight answer as to why they no longer wish to treat you. I could be wrong, they may indeed tell you why, who knows, make the call.

wish you luck and hope you can find a replacement, and if it were me I would definately be looking for an attorney that specializes in work comp, ASAP!!!!!

wishes for a pain-free day!

RE: do I or dont I
Your lawyer needs to be giving you names of replacement doctors to contact. The doctor has the choice of accepting you as a patient or not. Once you find a replacement doctor, notify your Claims Adjuster of the new doctors name and information and perhaps a copy of the "drop" letter you received. You can have your attorney do this if you prefer.

The same thing happened to me, but became more complicated. I hope your situation resolves without a problem from your C/A.

Good luck!

Let Go, and Let God......
