IME & no medical records
I believe I learned a new game wc plays.
I had my IME today. The judge requested this IME to determine if the injury to my knee, aggaravated, accerlerated or intensified the pre-existing condition of my knees. I need a total knee replacement which wc refuses to pay for. Well I got to the IME today and saw the doctor he informed me he had no medical records. I gave the doctor a copy of the court order so he would know what he was suppose to do. He then asked me a number of questions and examined me. The doctor said when he recieves the medical records he will complete the IME. Upon leaving the office I called my attorney's office and learned it was the wc Ins Co. that responsible for providing the records. My attorney was not happy about today. Is this a game wc plays? |

RE: IME & no medical records
yeppers it is that is why YOU ALWAYS have a complete set of medical records with you at all times.....get copies of everything and keep it seperate and always in your reach...when a doc asks to keep them I tell him no but I will go with his nurse and help make him a copy....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: IME & no medical records
yeppers
they are still probably sorting through the records to see which ones to supply to the ime doctor - sorry to say this sometimes IC will do this - mine sent only 1/2 of the records to the doctor they sent me to down here in OK and then I had to provide him with the rest of the documents that I had. When I went for the IME for my attorney - she provided him with a complete medical history - including all my pcp records and all WC medical records. |

RE: IME & no medical records
I had my medical records with me and the doctor refused to look at them.
He said he would look at them from when they were sent to him. I did manage to get him to look at a coupl of documents that were supportive of my case. |

RE: IME & no medical records
Since was an IME the judge sent me to and the IC was responsible for sending medical records and did not.
Well, I would think the judge might not be to happy with the IC. Ins co had over three weeks to get records to the doctor's office. |

RE: IME & no medical records
Oh Bummer....I'm so sorry that you have once again been delayed. This totally sucks. I wonder why the doctor wouldn't look at the records you took with you...is it because the WC only supplies what they want the doctor to know...and not the entire story? I agree he was bought & paid for by the IC too! I also agree it will not set well with the judge if the IC had 3 weeks to send all the reports, and failed to do so. It can only be helpful to you that they didn't do what was required. All you have to do is wait a little longer....this should be nothing new and you are probably well accustomed to having patience.....but it still is BULL! Your lawyer knows how to play...except I hope he plays dirty, and gets someone in the IC held accountable for the hold-up.
Prayers going up for you! Lilly

RE: IME & no medical records
Thanks Tweety & Lilly
I have to think the Ins Co did what they did in not sending the records because they thought it would be a benifit to them. I will post after I talk to my attorney. |
