Secret Santa Program Directions

RE: Secret Santa Program Directions
Red

One thing I would like to mention and this is for those with kids - especially the younger kids.

If there is a specific type of toy - like Barbie doll or matchbox car that the kids want - then if the parents could list some of these it would be great - along with clothing sizes if they need clothing as well.

Also, I don't know about others, But I tend to wrap any presents I would send out - so if they have the childs name it would be great that way I could put the childs name on the present as well. (from santa of course).

Pooh, good ideas, I wrapped mine last year also and sent checks directly to the familys, so Monster did not have to use the money sent to her for postage, and could be used for other things like phone, utilities, for those in need. We also sent checks directely to Utility co in the persons name that needed help, we just had there name , there account number and the name of the utility co.

Just some ideas for our girls that are doing the Secret Santa and thanks for all there hard work.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.

RE: Secret Santa Program Directions
I agree spring - None of us asked to be hurt.

But the holidays are about the kids first and foremost!!!! (that's my opinion) and of course those that need bills paid asap

Do Not let the kids suffer because of ones pride in asking for help. There are many here that are willing to help in any way that they can. It may not be much but at least the kids will have something to open Christmas day when they are expecting nothing. What better way to keep Christmas alive for them and teach them the true meaning of Christmas - the meaning of giving with ones heart.

Pooh and all..in a standard letter that I wrote up to go out after a request is made ask that they give the age, name, size, and desired gift. I think I have that covered. Then I will pass that a long to who is going to purchase for that transaction number or child etc. Please keep the ideas coming so that we make this as successful for all as possible. Love Red

Will do red -

Those were just some of the things that I thought of - as even when things were tough for me, I always tried to do the giving tree at Wal-mart. It was always fun to help a kid that was needy and most times it was more fun to watch the clerks eyes when I brought in the gifts wrapped for the kid already. Those were a few less gifts they had to wrap up.

RE: Secret Santa Program Directions
i think we need to emphasize to people who need a little help that names will be kept completely anonymous from the forum, sometimes it's easier to ask for help if they know that.

RE: Secret Santa Program Directions
I agree monster. I am going to discuss all of this with admin today and we will get the ball rolling. Also, just so you all know, I have not started posting the donations by transaction numbers as of yet, waiting to discuss with admin, but I have received several donations, however, I have not received any request. I have to find a way to get the information out to people who we all know have kids and are having a very hard time or jsut people who are having a very difficult time right now. If you have any ideas on how to better advertise the program than just here on the off topic, please let me know. I appreciate all the help I can recieve. Love Red
