RE: rotation cuff
stiffnecked, that wasn't very nice. Cocolisco is new here and deserves a warm welcome not someone wanting to correct their grammar. If you don't understand a question, you need not reply.
cocoliso, there are several people on here with shoulder injuries. I am sure someone will be along to help you soon. Welcome to the board! There are very many knowledgable and kind people here who will be along to help you. |

RE: rotation cuff
Shoulder injuries take a very long time to heal. Some never regain the same range of motion that they had before the surgery. I didn't have a rotator cuff surgery, but I had a bankart repair on the left shoulder.
I'm regaining most of my ROM, but still have pain, and stiffness (surgery in july). I'm working with my physical theripist on strength and ROM stuff and it is taking a lot longer than I antcipated but getting better. Pain is still right about pre-operation level, but without the constant dislocations. Hope your recovery goes well... If I where you, I would not refuse job re-training. If you refuse a job, likley they can cut your benefits off. you are better off trying a new job, and if you can't do it, then get put back out of work. RE: rotation cuff
Hi Cocoliso and welcome.....I had shoulder surgery 6 months ago and am still not in full use of it and in alot of pain. I have been told it takes a good year to totallly heal. I also have a really bad neck and aren't sure IF all the pain is from my shoulder or neck also. Do you have an attorney? Maybe you need a second opinion. You can't for the most part refuse to do anything in a WC case. If your Dr. says you can work light duty and your employer is willing to train you there isn't much you can do but try. Best of luck. CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: rotation cuff
Hi Cocoliso & welcome to the forum!
I had 3 shoulder surgeries (anterior stabilization, manual manip, & arthroscopic release) and I still resulted in a permanently frozen shoulder....with little to none range of motion (ROM). It is still very painful. I did not have good luck...but when I was in PT, there was an older man (mid 70's) who had had a total shoulder joint replacement, and he had wonderful results! Did you go through PT after the surgery? Even though it was painful....did it seem to help you? I can tell you from experience that it takes a good year to get over or heal after a shoulder injury/surgery! Possibly you need to give it more time. You must comply (do anything WC says you must do)... or they can cut off your benefits..meaning, no money at all coming in. I would suggest you at least call a cert WC lawyer and see what he says to do (1st consult is no charge)...you may possibly even want to hire a WC lawyer to cover your butt with WC. Good luck to you, and post back often, ok? Lilly
Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |

RE: rotation cuff
I tore my rotator cup over a year ago. Had surgery 3 weeks ago pain is not as bad-or less than pre surgery but have limited ROM. I am hopeful to at least be out of some apin in PT now.
Always believe in yourself. No matter how much some people will make you doubt yourself. |
