Well the nightmare continues
Well today at 12:30 pm was suppose to be my Phone appointment for ssdi at 11:30 i received a phone call from the SSA and they told me there was no one to keep that appointment. After telling her i just waited almost 3 weeks for this and told her that i have had no income now for almost 10 months it was like i heard a little hum from her like who cares. She then tells me it will be another 3 weeks for a new appointment. This is just a mirror image of what i am going thru with W/C. 10 months now with no income. My last hearing on Oct 3 and no one knows when the Judge is going to make a decision. I have an attorney but they cant speed things up for me. Like i said before my biggest mistake when i got injured on the job was to report it. How stupid i was. I should have just kept my mouth shut and dealt with the injury in other ways. I did not know that these systems are so flawed. Well now i am at the point of stress and depression that i (and this is what is real scary) cant wait now to become homeless. At least i wont have to worry about the next bill coming in, that i can't pay anyway. I use and try to save my monies for gas to get to the doc 3X a week. Oh did i mention the the Ic has not even paid me for any milage expenses I sent in my milage sheet on the 1st of the month called today to find out they are disputing 2/3 of it and said they will send out a check in the morning for 215 dollars Yea right.I am sorry for venting here but just needed to. Well off to the social services office tomorrow where they will just add to the nightmare even more all they will tell me is to check into a shelter because i know for sure they will not pay my rent and utilities in full and what landlord or utility company takes partial payments . It never ends !!!!
i will take any advice if there is something i missed on where to go next.. Thanks all

RE: Well the nightmare continues
HI--I don't know about your state, but in VA there are fuel assistant programs with social services. Ask about that and if they are no longer accepting people, there are agencies here, that soc. services can give to you. They will pay your electric bill. Also, our electric company has a fund for those in hard times as well as they will take partial payments. Also, if you have not already done this, I had to end up giving up my home phone...I just use my cell phone for calls. I had to get used to that, esspecially for longer calls, but it saved me some money. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

RE: Well the nightmare continues
Tony, A couple of suggestions.

First, When I filed for Social Security I requested to have my interview in person at the Social Security Admin offices. I did so because I wanted the case worker to have a visual of me. I was one of the fortunate ones and I was approved in six weeks.

Second. Many non-profits help with rent & utilities. A good place to start is your local United Way Chapter. Do your search on-line for agencies & United Way. Don't over look the churches.

Tony,

I am so sorry to hear your problems only get worst. Might I suggest when I send in my mileaage I always send a copy of mapquest with it that way there is no doubt about your mileage. Second do like others say and let social services know your stressful situation I am sure they can recommend something for you.

I will also pray for you. I always pray to Saint Jude, he is the patron St. of hopeless cases.
I had no idea that you could get mileage money. I spend about $100.00 to $120.00 dolars per week, sometimes more to get to all of the appointments. Being I'm from PA perhaps they don't have this benefit.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!
