RE: Tpm Follow Up
Thanks Pooh for the advice.
I just received my MRI report and hopefully you will see it posted here. From what I see I don't think anything stands out but maybe someone reading this can shed some light. I go back to the Doc in 2 weeks.
Thanks again

Thanks again for the tip but I drive ALL DAY as I'm a tractor trailer driver and a chief driver for my volunteer FD (only thing I enjoy so trying not to give it up). I will certainly try to use the armrest and be a little more cautious. My day is full of overhead lifting and maneuvering. Sad

Edit: This is a doctor I chose. One time I went to an insurance company doctor for an EMG test and he misdiagnosed me. Never again

RE: Tpm Follow Up
tmp

I use the arm rest all the time when I drive and I also have the center console down so I can lean my other arm on it. (you know how pick ups are with the center console in the front)

You can try and see if one of those Toss pillows from the house would help you out when driving - it may be just the right size for resting your arms on.

Men with TOS normally don't have to worry about this next one that much - but don't blow dry your hair - I don't know how anyone with TOS could hold their arms up long enough to get it done myself. But then again I have hair down to my waist....... lol

Watch your posture, it's important - as imsc pointed out - if you keep your hands in your back pockets it helps pull your shoulders back and this should help ease your pain while walking and it does for me. So if you have a shoulder that is really hurting that is the thing to do - just stick your hands or even hook a thumb in your back pocket or front pocket to keep it from moving to help ease up the pain some for a while.

I use a full length body pillow at night - you can pick one up at wal-mart normally. This helps with keeping one arm at level if you sleep on your side at night.

And other than that - choose a neuro that cares. if you live in OKie - imsc I think lives here and can help you with that ....... other than that not sure about a good neuro else where. Since your in NY I am not sure where one is around you. Maybe your attorney knows of one? Or maybe imsc knows if there is one in your area that treats TOS.

RE: Tpm Follow Up
I was hoping someone would comment on my MRI report Sad
I would like to know where I stand. I see the doc Thanksgiving week. My ex rays appear to show more bone ridging and narrowing then my MRI in my opinion. The radiologist said any scar tissue or lack of it would be reported along with my fusion progress. I just don't see it

Thanks and I hope and wish everyone a pain free weekend

Sorry I just don't know enough about reading MRI reports to make a comment on it. I wish I could. I know with the narrowing it can cause some problems with the nerves and that can lead to problems with your arms as well as other parts of your body.

The is a place that you can find out info I think it's http://www.spineuniverse.com

Hope that's the right website.

RE: Tpm Follow Up
Hi tpm!! I'm not a Dr., but I've had my share of MRI's of the Spine, and I Read your Entire Report that You Posted. You are actually Showing some Improvement from Your Last MRI, with no New Occurrences from Your Last. It seems You are Recovering, your Spinal Cord has good clearance, you have some Mild Bulging and a Small Herniation, but those were noted on Your Last MRI. If I were to Receive an MRI Report like that, and i didn't have Severe to Moderate Pain Issues, I would Be Ecstatic!! Seems you are doing Well, Your Hardware is Intact, and doesn't seem to be Loosening, it all looks Pretty Good and a Success to Me! If you are Experiencing added Pain and Discomfort though, You may need an MRI With/Without Contrast to check for Possible Scar Tissue, but if You are getting along Well, I would be Very Pleased with the Progress!! Now Remember Everyone, I'm not a Dr., nor do I claim to Be One, but when You are Disabled from a Spinal Injury, You Learn as much about the Spine as You Can, and I'm just Passing along My View of the Report from what I've Learned over Three years, and approx. 9 MRI's of My Spine, Most With/Without Contrast! I Hope I was able to Answer any Questions You may have Had tpm, and I Hope you are doing Well!! I wish I could be Back Behind the Wheel of My Truck, and I'm Very Happy for You that You were able to!! Be Safe Out There, and Take Care!! Smile

Still in Limbo Wrote:Hi tpm!! I'm not a Dr., but ... Smile

Thanks so much for the response Limbo
Unfortunately I'm still feeling bad pain in my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Good news it isn't as frequent as before. I had gone for another MRI because I have been getting numbness in my right arm and occasionally in both hands. I was hoping any scar tissue would have been noted either way and the progress of my fusion (which I didn't see either) Sad.
My next step is an EMG test Sad (my third) in 2 weeks.
I do feel like I'm making a lot of progress but that numbing in my arm scares me.

I'll keep you posted and thanks again

RE: Tpm Follow Up
I know there are issues right now about the use of certain Dyes used for Contrast, but I would, in My opinion, ask for either an MRI With/Without Contrast, or a CT Scan, sometimes the CT picks up things the MRI Doesn't. It certainly seems with Your Numbing Issues that a Nerve or Nerves are being Impinged, and You need to find that Source. Usually, the Tech that Reads the MRI's won't Comment on the Fusion Progress unless they See a Problem. In Fact, if I Remember Correctly, they did Note that Your Hardware was Intact, that's a Good Sign! Please let Me know How things Go, and I Hope Your News is Good, and only something Minor!!Wink
