heres my problem in dec. 2006 i hurt my lower back and got a pinch nerve. about a mouth ago i went back to full duty and just last week i hurt my back again. so now my job and wc are investagating it because i hurt it again. they said that the doctor i have seems to be not treating me right and they want me to either try to do therpy and they said if i dont that maybe this job is not for me. my job also wont give me any time to work until they talk to worker comp so im losing out on some time. so i dont even know if i will have a job come monday and i dont know what to do. so if any body could give me some info i would be happy to hear. thank you.

RE: lumbar problem
my suggestion is to go lawyer shopping now......get a lawyer that does ONLY wc and has a good set of teeth so he/she can bite th IC in the (Jayne's lame attempt to bypass the Bad Word Filter)

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: lumbar problem
Hi angel621....when you were hurt the first time, was their a MRI of your injury? What was the diagnosis? Have you seen a doctor with the injury this time and is it in the same area?

First, I agree wholeheartedly with Jayne...find a lawyer. Second, follow your physicians recommendations, and if it is for PT, then I would go to PT. PT will strengthen your back muscles. However, prior to this I would demand for a MRI to be done of your back so you know exactly what you are working with.

In terms of what they said about finding another job, do not do anything until you know exactly what your injury is and what your treatment should be. Good luck and keep us updated.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: lumbar problem
I agree with the above about getting an attorney, it sounds like they aren't going to be too nice about your injury. Just a thought, if you need money now, can you use any sick or vacation days? I know they are tough to use when you're hurt, but it could give you some cash flow now! Best of Luck and I hope everything works out!!Wink

RE: lumbar problem
Sounds like when you were first injured, they gave you Injections and Therapy, then released you back to work. Injections Mask the Pain like a Bandaide, and your set up to have the pain return. In my thinking, you never really hurt yourself again, it was just Masked. Now if you had an MRI before, you will need another one now with and without contrast, to show if anything has changed. If nothing changed, the old injury is still the problem. If the Employer and IC continue to give you delays, seek an Attorney, or file a complaint with your State WC agency.
