Question regarding SSDI

Could it have to do with how much money your family makes? I don't know if this is based on family income or not. I'm sure someone will be along soon that knows.

I also got a handy dandy letter....they are sending me to an internist to see weather or not I qualify with my spine problems....dont that beat all

In SSDI determination, some other things they look at are type of work restrictions, age, education, previous work experience.

Hi AQA,

I am not sure but I think what it means is they are checking to see if you meet the financial requirments. Like work history and so forth say for instance you only worked 6 months in your whole life then you do not quailify for SSDI you would get SSI instead. SSDI is kinda like your disability retirement if you can't work until 63 or 70... see what I'm saying? SSI is meant for people that are disabled but didn't put enough into the system to get ssdi. Now I may be wrong but I read that somewhere and that may be what they mean. Maybe you should call them tomorrow and ask. Good luck
