return to work

Question RE: return to work
You know, the more I think about it the more I don't like the idea of having to drive 75 miles one way just to work. You'd think they could let you do some online work....or send something to your store that you could do in the office there. I know a manager must have a place that he/she does the paperwork necessary for their store, scheduling and stuff...??? If that's the case...maybe you could see if they could send you what they want you to do either by courrier or mail and do the work there. That, to me, would be about the only other way to accomplish getting a paycheck without having to drive 150 miles round-trip daily. That's not acceptable. And, I know that the employer has to make an acceptable offer in these situations....this is not, so I'm thinking that they should keep things the way they are...without you loosing your paycheck of course!
Definitely speak with your attorney about this...as soon as you can! He will be the one with the best answer for you!!!!

RE: return to work
Prncess, this is really scary. What if you were to have a blowout? It is hard enough to hold onto the steering wheel with 2 hands let alone with just 1. I hope there is something that your doctor or your lawyer can do to stop this from happening. I'm over here praying for you - please keep us posted.

Deb

RE: return to work
I havent told my attorney yet because its not for sure, he was just tossing ideas around. He doesnt want me to go back to work there at all, he has told me several times to just quit. Bad advice I think. If they were to say ok you can come to corp office and work everyday, I dont think they are doing it to be nasty, I think its more of a, you need money this is the only place we feel safe having you work because youre not tempted to do any lifting here. As much as I would love to go work in the corp office because Im going to need the money, Driving 75 miles one way doesnt thrill me. Im sure they would help out with gas, they usually do when I have to go there. But still, im screwed if my car breaks down. Yes, I do have a cell phone, but i lose range 1/4 of the way there.

I just wanted to make sure if they offered this, that even though I need the money, I dont have to accept it because its so far away. I cant picture spending 3 hrs in a car, then working a 10 hr day and of course Geena spending all this time in daycare.

Thanks for all your help.

RE: return to work
Hi Princess, I hope you are well today! If it were me, just my opinion, I would wait until the actual job offer before contacting your attorney. I don't really think they would expect you to drive 75 miles each way, and they may not even offer it. I'm glad to see some things are falling into place for you, take time to enjoy the small wins, and tackle the job offer if and when it comes along!! It's too early to worry!Wink
