Silicone gel pads for scars
Has anyone used these silicone gel pads to reduce scars? My pt gave me (well, I bought them) a couple to use, but she didn't have any directions for them. I thought she called it Topagel, but I am not sure. I am looking for directions on how to use them and anyone's thoughts on how they worked if they used them. I couldn't find anything under that name on the internet.
Thanks all! ksgirl |

Thank you Crabby! You are such a sweetheart for looking those up for me. I'll read them in detail after work conditioning tomorrow. Thank you again!

RE: Silicone gel pads for scars
From what I know, all you need to do is clean the area, and place them on. They should also be washable for reuse too. They do aid in healing, and lower the amount of scar showing. They are also used to hide highly visible scars.
Another thing that works great also, is E-Oil. One drop on your finger to apply, and just keep rubbing it in. Helps to reduce scar tissue with the rubbing, and lowers the scar sight from being so visible. http://www.braceshop.com/ProductCart/pc/...ategory=28 http://www.braceshop.com/ProductCart/pc/home.asp Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: Silicone gel pads for scars
Thanks everyone for all of the info. I will plan on wearing mine a lot. I wasn't too worried about my scar, but the dr said he would make my old scar better with this surgery. I wouldn't have been disappointed if he hadn't said that, but he sure didn't make my scar look any better. In fact it's a lot worse. I think I have decided to get a tattoo that says ENTER HERE with an arrow pointing to my scar. This is the second surgery to the same spot and no guarantees that it won't reherniate again. At least with a tattoo and arrow they shouldn't have trouble finding the spot next time.
Thanks again. You guys and gals are great! |

RE: Silicone gel pads for scars
If I ever get a tattoo, it won't be on the scar. Seems like that would really hurt and if they have to go back in, they would just ruin the tat. I'll probably never do it anyway.
