RE: update
On this update, I'm hearing alot of give me Drugs, give me (drugs, give me drugs for the emg, give me drugs for this, give me drugs for that, give me drugs for pain.

Have you ever bothered to ask the treating doctor, why they won't give you DRUGS? And ask for them to put it in writing why they will not prescribe you drugs.

I'm seeing a vision; As if there is a major reason why their not giving you DRUGS. Are you being treat for some sort of Mental condition? If so, did you report that to this treating Work Comp Doctor? Do you have some other conditions you may not of shared as of yet, and that would help shed some light on them not suppling you with DRUGS.

If not, then report your Doctor treating you to your State Licensing Board for poor ethics. It's kind of that simple...

RE: update

Mel...As far as your last post goes saying" I don't think so" I am very surpirsed you haven't picked up here yet that sometimes we have no choice. The IC can and will do whatever they want and so will some Dr.s. IF they send you back to work and yes they can, you will have no choice but to go or lose your job. No it makes no sense but I'm very surprised you have missed what everyone here has been telling you since day one. OK , you got your check. Did you get a "Notice of Compensations Payable" along with it?? You have to understand that the IC can and does play nice, nice sometimes and then all of a sudden screws an IW with everything they've got. I don't feel you could handle this. I wish you would prepare yourself. I'm glad you have an appt. with an attorney but this is the second time you've said you have appt. set up and then nothing. Did you cancel because you got a check? That's wonderful BUT you still are not happy with the medical treatment. If the IC authorizes changing Dr.s because this one won't prescribe narcotics I will be shocked. I have to agree with BB. (9 out of 10 of your posts talk about nothing for pain ). Mel...no one here is trying to be mean, BUT we have all had the pain and some alot worse. Most of us have had the after surgery pain so we do understand how much it hurts. In my experience since '99 with my first back injury I have never come across a Dr. who was worth a %^$& who prescribed narcotics constantly without knowing exactly what was wrong with the patient, had a plan of treatment, had a surgery gone bad, etc. Please , please you really need to read over and over what we are all saying to you. I am so afraid you are going to hurt yourself in the long haul of this horrible system.

RE: update

Mel...I can't answer for what BB was thinking but I think he has valid questions. There is usually a reason a Dr. will not prescribe anything for pain. 5 pills isn't getting anyone through 3-4 weeks. Bleive it or not this Dr. is doing what's right. An EMG has been ordered. That would be the next step after an MRI. IF you took the prednisone it's not a good idea to get injections or more steroids. They do alot of other damage to the body. I know they help, no one knows that better than me, I had 10 injections in a year, but I also have permanent damage to other body parts from it. So when you say you don't care if it's a corizone shot or whatever, I have to tell you there is only so much any Dr. can do in a hurry to deaden the pain without knowing more. Mel... I have several bulged disks in my neck, severe stenosis, large bone spurs, and early myelomacia, and a pinched nerve at the C7. I have pain from my neck that covers the entire upper left side of my body straight down to my thumb and index finger. On top of that I have had shoulder surgery on that side also. I know all about pain. I haven't been given a narcotic since one month post -op. So you see it isn't odd and doesn't make the Dr. you're seeing worthless or that she doesn't care about your pain. I understand what you're saying about getting another check next week but why have you said "and i'm keeping it"????? Who said you shouldn't??? Whether this is right or wrong is not the issue. It's what goes on and I really think you need an attorney especially in light of your attitude that you will do what you want because "something isn't fair" I am really afraid someday you will find yourself in legal trouble. Hopefully BB will come along and answer your question. My feeling is maybe the Dr. won't prescibe any more pain killers because of another underlying condition. It was an honest question.
