Ah....sweets you are not that much older than me. I don't want to go that way. i like the nice hotels and airconditioned shock absorbent autos..... I did have a family memeber who did what you described once, and I thought no me...no way no how...I just am not what my father wanted when he got me. I didn't like to horseback ride, smell cows, milk cows, shoot a gun or anything like that. I did lide and use to be very good at sports... but the hunting leave it at my dad's door..not for me. smiling...I am glad that you like that type of camping, boy would my father and mother love you and your husband if they could ever meet you both.

sithie, do you know a way down and over that would be a good road especially because the time of the year... check it out and we could also compare trips. A few extra miles when you are going to drive about 7,000 miles really doesn't matter now does it.... check it out... from Roseburg Oregon 97470 and see what you come up with...love Red

RE: hotel reservations for coffee in Tulsa
Wow, I think I am on to something, If ya'll are going to Spring's, then you could just go to Salt Lake, to Green River to Moab and I am Dead center between Moab and Albuquerque. I am in Cortez, Colorado, 81321. It is 9 hours from Spring's to here, then you could stop the night, and it is about 10 hours from here to Tulsa.

Ks, is your family coming with you? If not maybe we could split a smoking room. I am getting so psyched, I pray I can swing this. Jayne I will probably have to take ya'll up on at least one meal, we will see.

Sweet I am like you, that is my Idea of a road trip, I also will drive outta my way and anywhere to see something that catches my attention. When my oldest was young we were way to poor to really vacation, I lived in Texas though, so he and I would jump in car and go to Galveston or Mustang Island, and stay on the beach, Just buy sandwich makings, and shower at the public showers on the beach. Heck he thought we were rich, lol. We went to alot of towns and walked around and zoo's and museums all over the state. They were all free back then. And you can go a long way on a loaf of bread and peanut butter and jelly.

I want you all to know how much it means to me that you are helping me like this to do something that is not even a nessesity. I came here and read this, and got all ya'll PM's, and it makes me feel so loved, thank you, my family, and I love ya'll too.

RE: hotel reservations for coffee in Tulsa
Hi sithie, thanks for looking that up for me. It looks like the only difference is about 3 hours, I do not see that as an issue. We would not be able to take you back but I am sure we could pick you up. i will run this by my husband in the morning and get back to you. I think it would be fun to ride with you to Tulsa.. We are going to leave Roseburg Oregon on Wednesday on 12/5 which means we will spend that night in Twin Falls, and then Thursday 12/6 we should be in your area and we will spend a night in a hotel in Cortez.. and then pick you up very early 12/7 Friday morning... so that we can get to Tulsa by 6 PM that night. That way if ksgirl is there, we can all have dinner together. Also, my husband is a smoker, but you both have to be careful...he does smoke in the car, but I have a problem with my lungs do to a MS attach and so I have trouble around smoke sometimes... but he does smoke and he is just very careful about it. I think this will work out just fine.... let me talk to my husband and then you figure out your other issues...and we will make this work...can't wait to meet you...love Red

RE: hotel reservations for coffee in Tulsa
I don't think this motel has any smoking rooms. We'll have to figure a way around that. My husband is coming, but my girls aren't, so we can share a room if you want to Sithie. Monster, I wish we could figure out a way to get you to Tulsa! How much would it cost for you to fly? I know you said something about school getting in the way. When does your semester end?

Since we are just going to order in food and the hotel provides breakfast, food shouldn't cost too much. I am getting so excited! I hate waiting Sad! Hey, are any of the guys on here going to try to come?

RE: hotel reservations for coffee in Tulsa
I would love to meet you all in Tulsa, but with the Holidays quickly approaching, Christmas and my trip to Vegas, it is just not possable at this time. Air fare would kill me let alone motel rates for a few days as one nite would not be enough. and then the expense of getting to and from the airport here in my area.$$$$$$$$$$ which I can't let go of at this time.

You all have a great time and Monster and I will be expecting cards etc . and it is all right if you talk about me.LOL Just remember not all WC decussions and have fun.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
