RE: Epidural Scheduled Tomorrow
My husband and I have the same as jayne. The problem here in New Jersey is there is very few doctors and no labs places that will accept tri service or champus. i still can't get use to tri service. i don't pay anything from the VA. it is all paid for. You all would not believe the benefits that I have from the VA medical center. They pay everything from fixing my house, to buying all the equipment and tools that I need... I am very lucky when it comes to health care. Red

RE: Epidural Scheduled Tomorrow
Red that really worries me about your moving......Our VA hospital here is a death trap...when visiting with my honey I saw things that were unreal...not only waiting over 6 hrs for an appt.but watched as an older lady vet cried cuz no one would help her get a drink...she was there alone,in a wheelchair and couldnt reach the drinking fountain....my older son and husband lifted her to get a drink not a paper cup in the place.....when we complained to the civilian about this woman his reply ? no drinks allowed in the ER....they were understaffed, underfunded and had no hearts...it is much safer for vets here to use champus prime than the vets hospital.....in fact he refuses to go back it is just to depressing.....please check out the rep of your new VA hospital before you move.......

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Epidural Scheduled Tomorrow
Thanks jayne, I know that there are a few VA's like that. Even here in Phila there is a problem with the pharmacy, so I don't stop for any medication, even an antibiotic. I have it mailed to me. The people who work for the VA are very uncaring, I have seen that. But I have also seen it in civilian hospitals. There is a VA in Roseburg and my cousin is the top benefits advisor there. I even worked there for awhile which is how I ended up joining the US Navy. They do not have services for neurology, but they do have women's health. Portland on the other hand is the west coast specialist for MS. On the East Coast it is at Baltimore MD. I plan on receiving most of my care from Portland. However, if I have a problem that means I go to the hospital right away, the Roseburg VA will foot the bill for a civilian hospital, so I am not worried. Also I have Medicare. I would prefer to stay in the VA system is my only concern. I have had very good experiences with the VA. For some reason they all seem to like me a lot except for the pharmacy... lol

RE: Epidural Scheduled Tomorrow
Yes, I had the epidural today and it did go well. No problems witht he injection. I am having intense leg/nerve on my left side (My treatments are for my right side)

I did talk to the doctor at length about the problems I've had since the last injection and he scheduled a dicsogram for the 17th of this month.
If this injection help then I will not need the discogram.

I am going to sign off and go rest.
