I have done lots of research
Hello forum thanks in advance for the help. I live in indianapolis Indiana single 39 yr old male no kids legal us citizen. I was working for a big food manufacturer when i had ruptured my left epl or thumb ligament. I went into surgery today no complications the my specialist is amazing. As for my employer i went to their doctor the same day for the injury was given a splint and a no use of left hand restriction for work. Got alot of crap from my coworkers about but my previous job was in construction so im all about bustin balls. But the employer would not adhere to my doctors instructions all the way to the point I broke my initial splint. I then went to the docs office for a replacement splint. Then i had a follow up appt with doc and he emphasized the restriction on the employers copy once again. I brought this to their attention so they moved me from a non production area to a full production area. In my previous non production area i was told by the supervisor not to clock out when going to appt suring work hours so that was cool. But i went to the next area the production area my supervisor said I had to clock out however the next area and new supervisor said i was stealing company time since i didnt clock out when going to appts even though my in and out times were documented on the employer copies. Hell I didnt even charge them for appts after hours. She also said that the company didnt want to be bothered with the situation as "This is something I did and a direct result of what I did" I was unaware that this could be blamed on me nor was I blaming them. Now i have on voice recorder the part when she said i was stealing and that this was my fault after the foremans gave me crap for 2 weeks " pretty harsh excrement" i put an app on my phone. With all that said with the non compliance of restrictions unable to keep up in production area the constant barrage of insults and accusations i resigned my employment Oh when I went to hr they looked at me crazy spoke in spanish so I couldnt understand and pointed me back to the last supervisor. I quit only to the fact the family doc was optimistic i would be able to go back to work fully in two weeks I was going back to construction. Then i see the specialist now i have another 10 weeks recovery. Does this completely keep me from expecting any compensation and should I expect a settlement from my injury. They could not repair my ligament through itself they had to take a ligament from my index finger and I was told that there would be permanent partial disability. Theres so much more bs from the ins company but thats the just i guess. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
Permanent partial disability will entitle you to some additional payments once you have reached maximum improvement.
You will probably have to fight for wage loss payments as they will likely claim that there was modified work available until you quit... Unless your current doc has taken you off all work.
If the earlier work was outside of the restrictions,  you would be within your rights to refuse it or request the doc put you off all work. Time off for medical appointments is not covered by workers comp. unless the employer makes an exception leave time for medical appointments is usually charged against sick leave or other leave credits. they still have to provide treatment.
Since you did a lot of research you are familiar with indiana's comp rules:
